similar base idea to ours, but a different execution, I love it! :D slime united!!
I love the blob and the idea with size changing. Good job!
Great platformer game! The main character is awesome, and I love all the sound effects.
Fun platformer. I love the shooting and all the animations are so cute <3
The idea is simple and clever! Happy to be a cute Slime to overthrow the tyranny of mankind hehehe
very cute game! The character animation is spot on!
Nice platformer blob game! Good work finishing.
cute looking game, surprised to see a game made with stencyl (≧ヮ≦) 💕
I absolutely love the blob animations. Getting to max size and eating every human, car, and rat in sight was a blast! You did a good job adding multiple mechanics to really take advantage of the change in size like the elevators, destructible blocks, tiny gaps to squeeze between, etc. A really strong use of the theme and a fun game overall.
Our team actually had "giant blob that eats everyone" as one of our initial ideas before we settled on our game--great minds think alike!
Cool concept, nice level design, well done! :)
that cute up down animation of the blob moving was enough for me, but you went ahead and gave it a shooting mechanic. I am sold. I hope you make it into a full game as this has a lot of potential. Good job.
This is a great implementation of the scaling of character. The puzzles are well laid out as well.
I dig the concept ! For future updates it would be better to scale the sprite in the pixel art editor not the engine, since in the engine it becomes a little weird
The sprite of the biggest blob was drawn 1:1, the game engine just scales down! The way it looks is all on purpose. That should be a special art style. I call it smudged pixel style. But, yeah, I was afraid, that this would not be recognisable and most people might think it either badly drawn or badly scaled up.
Nice idea!
I had fun playing the game, it's really a cute blob, love the art style~ Good luck with the jam!
I had fun playing this. The game does have a bug where I reset the level but the blob's size did not reset. Other than that, nice game!
I loved the art and the overall feel of your game. The level design was a bit hard to understand, but the animations were great!
Unfortunately I got stuck coming back from the second key so I couldn't finish it. I didn't know where to go and got softlocked in the tower where you have to platform small. Sometimes the scene doesn't change if you're too small and C usually fixes it, but it wasn't working.
I really liked the art (transparent main character is neat). I think it's cool you used the pipes as an obstacle as well as a tool in the first level. I liked the screaming red-shirts when you ate a cop. Animations are clean, but the scaling is a little jank.
Great job Team Carrot!
Thanks for the feedback! I am sorry that you got stuck which obviously spoils the whole fun. Unfortunately we were not able to fix this bug due to lack of time anymore. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
We had very similar ideas! It's fun to see how much the idea of a ball of goo changing size can go. Ironically, we actually stumbled on the idea of a goo character because we didn't have time to animate our kiwi character lol.
What I loved about your game is the clever water drops and nail? drops that either refill your size or diminish it. Really cool way to be forgiving to the player. Great work! I'd love to hear your opinion on our take of the goo puzzle platformer, especially since we both spent a few days thinking about the same things a tad differently.
Thanks! I will definetely have a look at your game and give you some feedback as well.
Really nice concept! This year's theme, 'scale,' was executed in a more creative approach compared to similar games! I also like the level designs because of the clever puzzles that utilize the growing and shrinking mechanic very well.
I think you could improve in two areas. Firstly, you could maybe work on your pixel art because it isn't as clean as in other games that I've played. Secondly, I found the game to be not that polished.
I really like the setting of the game, with the slime that seems to have been a failed lab experiment that escapes that lab. This theme was nicely visualized with the artwork!
Keep it going!
Thanks for the quality feedback. The "smudged pixel" style was on purpose but obviously is not to everybody's taste. As for the polishing you are absolutely right. Wesimply lacked the time to do so.
