Feels like a full-blown mobile title. Art and sound are on point. The only thing I would change are the UI transitions - they are too slow for my taste. Overall a great entry, congrats! 👏
Thank you! I may make this a mobile game sometime after the jam since I've had a few other people say it would make a good mobile game too. I'll be sure to make the UI not last so long if I update this game in the future.
Very cute game with a simple concept! Really liked the atmosphere
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. 🙂
Deceptively cute game with a relaxing ambiance. Once bats get introduced though, the game is legitimately hard (in a fun way), I could see this working well on mobile!
Thank you for the kind words! I may keep working on this game and release it on mobile in the future sometime.
Cute and clean visuals. Audio was on point. Most everything seems like it wants to be a casual/relaxing game, but then the gameplay feels almost like a rage game. xD
Thank you! I'm glad you like my game, and I hope it didn't make you rage. 😂
Interesting climbing game, the art style impressed me a lot, and the game play is also super polished.
Well done!
Thank you! 😁
nicely polished clean and fun experience. Particularly like the sound design. Only point of feedback is more visual clarity on when you'll touch back down. The warning sign for boulders could also blink when they're close.
I've had a few people now mention that it could be more clear when the character is about to touch down, so if I ever continue development or update this game I'll be sure to tackle that.
Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you liked it!
I loved it. One of the best games I played here so far. The ambience, the plot, all the small details, it's just amazing. Huge well done!
Thank you so much! 😁
The game is simple but really great! I think the gameplay could be speed up and harder, at start I nearly hold [SPACE] forever. Overall I liked the game!
I was trying to make the game more calming/relaxing then difficult, but I agree that I could have made it a little harder.
Thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad you liked the game! 😊
Really simple but effective gameplay! Especially loved the art style
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
Wow I really think that this game would work very well as a mobile game, there is so much potencial in this project, good work!
Thank you for the kind words! I might consider working on it further and making it a mobile game after the jam.
Do more enemies, like birds or bats, you could try to add powerups too
Good idea and simple artstyle looks good! Nice entry.
Thank you 😃
I like the idea! nice visuals. I think it would have been better if the player swung back after the jump like you would expect.
Thanks for playing! I'm unsure exactly what you meant by the player swinging back, but he does land on the mountain again when you release the spacebar/mouse.
I just meant if it forced you to swing back sooner instead of being able to hang away from the wall so long.
Very nice art, it reminded me a bit of Ibb & Obb. I wish the camera was a bit further away to plan my moves better!
I love Ibb & Obb! Thank you for the compliment.
The background color change is very simple, but very effective. It would be more satisfying if you could see when the climber is about to lower, but it's really a great entry!
Thank you, I spent more time then I'd like to admit on the colors changing. 😅
I'm unsure what you mean by "It would be more satisfying if you could see when the climber is about to lower". You can land on the mountain at anytime by releasing the spacebar/mouse if that's what you meant.
Hey, I meant that after a while, the character tends to land on the side of the mountain on its own, and this action is a bit unpredictable.
Ah, I understand now. I programmed him to automatically land after 3 seconds so that he can't just fly to the top of the game. A timer to show how long you have until he lands probably would have been a good idea though (I believe someone else commented this as well).
Thank you for clarifying. :)
The concept is fine, but the movements are really disappointing. If it had better movements I probably would've liked it more. Also the game is very repetitive. Art and sounds are pretty cool though.
Thank you for your feedback. I'll keep this in mind when I work on future projects.
Cute game, the gameplay and the arts are rather simple but still fun! Would have love to see more feedback for the player (a timer for example).
Thank you for the feedback, and I'm glad you liked the game.
The game is simple but well polished with sound effects & satisfying calm environment. Great job!
Thanks! 😊
I love the atmosphere in the game!
Thank you!
It looks polished, gread sound effects also, but the gameplay is just way too simple for me. Even the chrome dino game has more complexity. Some different kind of obstacles would help, or some kind of bonus for going faster and having a better reaction time. Some poisson random spikes just don't cut it for me, sorry. (i mean it constructively, it's not my aim tu hurt anyone's feelings.) (It would mean a lot if you would rate my game if you have the time)
Thank you for your feedback. There are a few different kinds of obstacles as you get higher (falling boulders, bats), but I admit you have to get pretty high before you reach those.
I was originally going to have a countdown timer/highscore system also to encourage speed, but I didn't have time to put it in the game sadly.
Again, thanks for the feedback, it means a lot. :)
Very nice and polished, the art style is wonderful. I particularly love the gradient in the background from the sun.
I found the gameplay a bit frustrating, because I had to be so patient to not get killed. I would've maybe liked some way to see spikes from further away, since I wanted to take bigger jumps but that felt like it would randomly get me killed sometimes. Anyways, great work!
You're right. I did put the character lower on the screen so you could see in front of him, but I should have zoomed the game out a bit more so you could see obstacles ahead more easily.
Thank you for the feedback, and I'm really glad you like the art! 😊
