I really like this game, it's a super neat system! I had a lot of  fun trying to figure out what shape I needed to place things in to be able to make black, and the music was really nice an hypnotic.

By reading the comments I can tell you ran into some problems, but this is really cool so far!  What this game needs more than anything however I think is an in game tutorial.  At the start I couldn't really figure out what to do, even by reading the in game help and upgrades. It wasn't until I decided to copy your screenshot with all the yellows to see what would happen did the game click and I did eventually get to 1k black.   It was pretty intuitive after that, however I never figured out what the mixer upgrade did and to get to 1k black I basically just made the same machine ten times.

Your system worked so well that I was surprised when I tried the pictured setup and didn't get green.

Definitely keep improving this game it's cool!

it started making red instead of black for some reason

Developer

Looks like you found a fun bug! I can’t currently explain that 😅 There’s definitely a bit of a colour ‘flow’ problem where the pipes get the wrong colours sometimes. I guess I would try to remove the mixer and re-add it or something, maybe an order of operations thing.

Needs some work 😎 Thanks for playing!

Very unique in presentation. if polished well, can see myself getting lost in it for hours.

Congrats on making it!

great concept and execution, except that once you unlock everything its just a long grind of making the same machines to get 1000 black

Developer

Sadly I broke the scaling at the end of development so that way more black mixers were needed 🫢

Thanks for playing!

The game is incredibly psychedelic and had me captivated for quite a while. If I could wish for one thing, it would be for the pipe placement to feel a bit smoother. But other than that, it has a great theme, interesting gameplay, and awesome music.

Developer

Yea I agree! There’s also some bugs where the pipe gets the colour from the mixer when it should get it from the pump. Some tricky stuff in there that I just ran out of time for.

Thanks for playing!

This was a devilishly smart idea. It definitely took me a second to understand how it all worked but if you spaced out some of the progression a bit more, it'd be a hit!

such an interesting concept

fun and interesting concept, but once you unlock the upgrades and find a setup that makes black, it's just a matter of copying it until you hit the goal. perhaps a few more unlockable machines or some way to interact with previous factories would really help.

Fun game! Really interesting concept!

really cool game, I love games like this where you have to optimise production with the space available to you :)

Really liked the idea, maybe im lacking entering again into a previous factory, and maybe using them for something, not only a obstacle. Liked the idea of using colors as your "pieces". Great entry!

Developer

Hey! You can secretly zoom in/out with up/down arrows, but yea since there’s nothing to do with the old factories I didn’t try to make it a real mechanic.

I originally considered having the inner factories ‘output’ the colours but tbh I really just had to scope it down. Had enough trouble/bugs dealing with handling different outputs and stuff as it was!

Thanks for playing!

Oh, because of the expand button on the left I thought that you could only go up. Also, I really liked the game and the amount of work for a jam is impressive!
