A very fun to play
A very fun to play
This is the juiciest game I've played in the jam so far! Incredibly polished with a simple premise but lots of depth. I didn't expect how fleshed out the building would be! Then residential block made me laugh when I read it. Full marks this is an incredible submission.
The only piece of criticism I have is the first time I died I think the game bugged out and froze. Including a screenshot if it might help. I'll forgive you for the single bug don't worry.
Excellent job I hope to see more from you!
Thank you! I almost gave up with all the math and UI stuff related to the building aspect, but in the end it all worked out.
And yea, unfortunately the game crashes if you die (unless you have no weapons) so it's super rare to see the ending screen. But that's the only crash I have seen so far so, which is pretty incredible considering all the spaghetti code and crashing potential.
Felt incredibly satisfying to drive around inn circles and crash into all the enemies. The city building mechanic also turned out to be suprisingly deep, especially given how little time there was to figure out how all these stats should work. Great job!
That is a crazy amount of polish for a jam game. Very well done.
The game crashed after i crashed the
carcity. I guess that's the best time for a game to crash lolthis game was a blast!! i loved it
This was a lot of fun! Especially loved the UI!
it’s very challenging but also very good in its execution, well done !
Crazy polished for a jam! Amazing work.
Thanks! We always go polish first, features second, and it usually gives great results!
Really fun, this was the first idea I had for the jam! but you pulled it off alot better than I could have
Amazing game, I had a ton of fun, since it's the perfect amount of action and strategizing! Just had a bit of issues with the camera shake being too much and camera follow being too sensitive, but otherwise amazing polish and experience, well done!
Such a fun and creative idea with excellent vehicles controls. I could not imagine how you made it with 3 people in 96 hours.
I really want to emphasise that the lion's share of the work was done by Reaktori! I only made art and we roped in a friend to make the music.
Impressive, all-around polished game! Web build does get laggy quite fast, win build ran with no problems. This definitely can become a full game. Survived for 756 seconds. My only problems are that there is no end screen and upgrade preview
Thank you! Good to know that the windows build performs better, didn't have much time to test it. There actually was a working end screen, but I somehow manage to break it at some point, and in the final build the game might crash at the end lol.
The concept is super cool, and very scalable indeed. Everything feels polished and smooth, but I think it really need a restart button on the ending screen in the web version. Would love to see what this could become, perhaps as a local-coop game?
Thank you! I don't know if it's a bug with GameMaker web build or just my programming, but the game_restart function didn't work properly in the we build.
Not sure if we will be continuing this project any time soon, but I'm a huge fan of local coop games and I'm curious, how would you make this into a local coop?
Thats great to hear - I'll give the windows build a try!
By couch-coop, I was thinking one player on the aiming and controlling the different modules mounted onto the vehicle - as it could be a lot to do for that player to just manage the cd timers on different loadouts as the setup becomes complex! The other player would of course handle the driving part, and perhaps there would be various upgrades to modify movement mechanics too.
In terms of game feel, I am thinking the players would do task division and communication that's designed to function similar to Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, CastingPlz, and Aegis Defenders.
I am also a huge local coop nerd and think there's not enough of em out there!
Very juicy top down driving action!
Love the concept, love the art! Though I usually play games with much simpler mechanics, I really appreciate the thought and detail put into this (and little touches like how the modules show up on your city when driving). Excellent work!
So cool, I'm expecting to see this in the GMTK video. So addicting, so well thought out. Just 10/10
I love the layered 3d effect with the 2d sprites. The driving/handling of the car feels awesome. Great use of theme! Unfortunately it gets a bit laggy on my PC when there are a lot of enemies on screen.
Thanks! It's not very optimized (it's a miracle it even works in the first place tbh), but at least the windows build should perform much better than the web build.
Very nice and polished game
Love it! Good spin on Vampire Survivors! The graphics are great too.
After playing it a bit more, liked the fact that different blocks can power up if they're next to each other. Maybe there could also be a block that powers weapons (flamethrowers feel kinda weak). Other than that, still love it!
Thanks! Somehow most of our games happen to have some Vampire Survivors in them.
