This was super creative and visually well done! I struggled with the controls personally, but I really appreciated the the zoomed out view was in slow motion, good call there. Overall I think this was one of the most unique entries I've come across yet. Good luck!

Love the style!

This is such a great concept and idea! Your arstyle, music and everything is just amazing. I feel like the game would be SO much better if I could see where my mouse is aiming? That was a huge problem for me, the little arrow is not enough, because you often have to grapple for things outside the screen.

Great job!

thank you for the feeback ! we reintroduced the cursor after the submission deadline and it does make things easier, so we’re working on a post jam release to fix controls !

Cooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great art and style, loved the music

Really stylish and punchy game! The music was great too.

I like the mechanics and feel of the game overall, the grapple could do with a little bit of tweaking to improve how it feels.

Developer

thank you, this is what we’re focused on for the post jam release !

This game presentation is top notch, specially the character design. There is a slight delay before shoting your measuring tape but is the only thing that annoyed me.

Developer(+1)

thank you for the feedback ! we will probably speed up the reeling out animation of the tape for the post jam release !

The art was amazing here. I dont know why, but music reminded me that good old days with Jazz Jack Rabbit 2 i had as a kid. The mechanic here is also pretty interesting, but bit hard for me even when i tried my best. And hey, fellow kaijuer :D

Developer

thanks haha, glad to see more kaiju games out there !

The style is crazy good! I loved it so much. The gameplay is very creative as well. My critique is maybe the grapple is a little hard to aim. But, overall this game is very f* cool

Developer

thank you ! we agree with everyone, we’re working on a post jam release with a mouse cursor and some other control improvements :)

I had some issues with the screen resolution (seemed like I could only see the top/left quarter of the instructions). Saw the instructions on the game page though so it didn't matter too much. As others have said, art is top notch. The punches/blocks feel extremely good. Something is odd about the way the mouse controls the grapple. It feels like my mouse still exists, and the arrow points towards it maybe? I'd prefer to have relative controls for it, where if I move the mouse left, the grapple target moves the same amount left regardless of where the mouse currently is. I also felt that the music, while good, doesn't really mesh the vibe of the rest of the game. Overall, excellent game, I had a lot of fun.

Developer

Thank you for your comment, all valid criticism ! Btw, you can scroll / hit left-right arrow keys or A/D to scroll the instructions :) I think we should have added a scrolling icon to tell you you could !

This is the coolest art I've seen in the jam. I absolutely love the cute and detailed Japanese aesthetic! The concept of a concrete robot and the kaiju setting are fantastic! However, piloting the mecha was a bit too challenging for me. It felt a bit overwhelming to fight the monsters without a tutorial.

Developer

thank you so much <3 we are working on making the controls easier for a post jam release :)

Well this is definitely the most stylish game of this jam!!! The style is incredibly unique and looks fantastic, and honestly the second I saw the title screen with its little parrallax I was sold! The movement was difficult but still felt really smooth, even when failing hahah. Overall just great work! :D

Thanks a lot !

Really unique and awesome idea ! The game is really fun to play ! The visuals and music are also spot on. If i may make a suggestion, i think making the aim cursor to be a lot bigger and more visible would make the game a lot better. Because this is a game where you move around very quickly, it gets really hard to know where you're aiming. Aside from that, this is a really solid and cool game !

Developer

Thank you for your kind words ! You’re right about the cursor and we’re thinking of bringing the mouse back after the jam is ended.. Thank you for the feeback !

This should be seen by maaaaaaany more.

What if there was the web version.

Anyway. A 神作 beyond just game jam

Developer

We couldn’t figure out the web version in time for the jam but we’ll try to add it once it is finished. Glad you liked it !

Thank you so much !

The art is crazy! I loved that you put concepts and gifs on the page! It's true that it took me a little while to learn how to play but when I understood how it works it was very satisfying to win it! Thanks!!

Developer

Tutorials are always tricky in a GJ because you end up spending more time designing them that the main loop… Maybe we could just give the player a bit of time to figure out the controls before the kaiju starts attacking. Ther is always room to improve, thanks for the feedback !

This game is oazing style! From the visuals to the music it's all freaking fantastic!

I also believe it was hard to control, but I do like being bold when it comes to trying out new crazy ideas. I am sure future iterations will be great.

Thanks for making this! Had a great time on it.

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words ! Controls is deffinitely our main focus for post-jam improvement !

The art style is absolutely incredible, the concrete mecha is such a wonderful design, palette is gorgeous and that opening cutscene was the perfect way to set the tone. Music keeps the energy high too, love it

I found the game a little difficult to control - would have liked a visible cursor to help get the angle of the tape right - but the satisfaction of landing a punch felt fantastic, honestly even getting punched was such a spectacle that I enjoyed that too!

I really enjoyed this one, thank you :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our games and liking it ! Definitely agree about the cursor, day-one fix once the jam is over !

Submitted

Lovely game ! The art style is amazing, I love the cut scene at the beginning !

I did find it difficult to maneuver the robot in the air without knowing what the kaijin was doing. It would have been helpful to have a mini-map showing the opponent's position. But otherwise, great idea—well done!

Developer

Thank you ! You can always zoom out in a sort of bullet time with your mouse wheel (and then zoom back in).

Submitted(+1)

Love the artstyle! Maybe i am bad at playing but I found the grappling super unforgiving. It is a super cool game though and i love the kaiju theme

Developer

Yeah the grappling can be a bitch at time but after all it’s just a tape mesurer you have to be understanding ;)
