Very cool game ♥ Besides the fact that it's a bit hard to aim it's great, but a few questions bother me... Why are the red gnomes coming from all sides? Do we have our garden in other people's gardens? Are we a city-state but a garden-state...?

The camera here makes this so horror at first - and when Gnomes started shooting from nowhere, I had a heart attack...
Funny art concept, a spooky realization

Nice work! I had some fun with it. Quick feedback: I echo everyone's feedback regarding the mouse sensitivity and the volume is too high for the gunshot sound. I jumped out of my chair the first time. :) This could be a fun little shooter with some upgrades and maybe a couple of additional weapons.

Fun little shooter, the dead gnomes make traversal a good challenge. The crosshair felt off though when i was aiming left and right

When I noticed the shattered gnome bits weren't getting cleaned up, I thought that was fun to see. Then I noticed they still had physics and got a little worried. Then came wave 7 and the piles of bodies started to act as cover. The audio strained. The power of the Blue Garden's superior engineering began to buckle under the might of that fiendish Red Gnome legion. What drives a gnome to take up arms against our glorious Blue Garden? Greed? Spite? I shall never know, for now my porcelain shards litter the dirt.

Rumour has it that on round 7 a red hacker gnome is deployed and that any chaos that follows is by no fault of the coding or design. Thank you for such a brilliant comment, may the gnome be with you.

I wish there was a way to control the sensitivity! Otherwise it's a fun straightforward arcade-like game! The idea is hilarious btw. Played at https://twitch.tv/hedge_in <3 vod Day 3 @ 1:42:00

Tyvm for playing it was really useful to watch, and your stream is great! :D

Shattering the enemy gnomes was nice

Mouse sensitivity was too high and moving it turns the player while moving the crosshairs making it very difficult to aim.  Also, I found that there was no limit to the fire rate so rather than aiming, I just spammed shots like it was a machine gun.

The house party was bangin', the music was cool. Tho being so squishy and literally getting blown to smithereens with 1 hit was a bit harsh! Not very forgiving. Mouse was a little over-sensitive, not sure if thats my system or that i played on web. Graphics were cool, was a bit dark but i guess that was on purpose. Multi-directional spawn points for the enemy was a bit challenging. Maybe i'm just bad haha. Overall cute, totally playable and pretty polished.

Would really appreciate if you could play & rate our game as well: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2024/rate/2914018
Thanks in advance!

I found the crosshair hard to control. Maybe add like a hold down RMB and swipe to control the cross hair. Idk, experiment a bit on that. But overall pretty fun game :D Good job!

You've been G'NOMED!

If you made this game just for the title and that thumbnail picture, then I can tell you it was definitely worth it.

And then the game is also very fun!

I love your destruction physics, coupled with your one shot kills game it makes for a really fun game which is quick to get to the good bits. Super satisfying when you get a whole bunch of the gnomes to explode!

Developer

Thank you very much! :)

Wow, this game is fun! The kills are satisfying, and it gets pretty intense in the later waves, and I dig the chaos. I also like how the controls are really simple. It goes a long way.

My only criticism is that the gunshot is too loud, but otherwise, I enjoyed running around exploring while shooting gnomes until my eventual death.

Developer

Yay that is great to hear :D and I definitely agree, especially when the enemy count goes up the audio starts to get a bit too manic lol. Tyvm for playing!

Love your sense of humor! Your cover image is iconic. The aiming system takes some getting used to but is pretty creative. I had a bit of trouble playing because of high mouse sensitivity.

Tyvm! :) and sorry about that I meant to add a sensitivity slider in the menus but didn't get the time womp womp
