The concept is nice! But what I'd like to see in this game
1. A little tip for every customer at the upper panel (maybe types of scales or maybe just a little text about what scales you need)
2. It would be nice to have a possibility to fill the slots with scales when the mouse button is pressed, not only after single clicks

Developer

Oh damn, hold to paint is such an obvious thing, can't believe I didn't think of it! Especially since in testing I so many times just furiously clicked to fill it as fast as possible to check everything works ;D A way to replay the dialogue/gather the short gist of it would have made sense too, we thought of it but didn't have time

Extremely good entry with a lot of content. Biased as usual, but I loved the dragons. Would have loved a quick replay option for individuals, but as a jam game this is absolutely fantastic.

What a clever way to implement the theme in your game! You're literally building up scales on your customers so that they look fancy, awesome, silly, etc.. It reminds me of one of those dress up Flash games, except this game has some funny dialogue in it.

You toke a twisted take on the theme but I find it fun. I didn’t expect to play for as long as I did.

You really nailed the mood of the game. Very cool art and music to match. The story telling is compelling and fun.

Really lovely. PS: I never expected to enjoy this style of game. Huge congrats.

Comments like this make all the effort so worth it. Glad to hear you had fun!

Gonna echo a previous comment and say that I'm not part of the target audience, but I can still recognize that this is a well made and creative game, good work!

Submitted(+1)

I might not be the target audience, but I have to admit the art is beautiful and the theme implementation was very original

Developer

Funnily enough this is not my type of game at all either, yet it was the best idea I got for this theme. It is very much the type of game my girlfriend I made it with likes though, but somehow the idea came from me haha

Thoroughly enjoyed this little game!

Cozy mood, clever writing and snappy controls made it all so enjoyable!

really original game ! didn’t expect this kind of scale in the games. My thunder/spider/fire fish will never be disturbed again! :)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing :) I'm sure Kevin must be very happy with your design!

Not my usual kind of game but I loved the little characters!

Submitted(+1)

This is really cute! I really liked all the different characters!

Lovely game with a cozy vibe! The chat feature was a standout, making the experience even more engaging. really well done!

Submitted(+1)

Lovely game! Great for the people who like such games. The chat part is amazing, I only wish that there was some variety in the shapes you can color. Well done!!

Submitted(+1)

Love it! The game has a really cozy vibe that I got lost in, idly working away. It was fun to choose whether to help them or do the complete opposite. My little sister would love this.

Also, I spent so long giving the first customer a fancy rainbow pattern and then she didn't even like it, haha.

Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, we were struggling a bit to make the "grading" system work comprehensively so that intuitive combinations would always work. Would need more time than a game jam allows to land on something that works more reliably I suppose

I assume that the scales would have different tags and that customers have specific tag preferences? Although when the black snake asked non-black, I covered her in black scales and she loved it.

Developer

Yeah exactly like that, but many of the scales have multiple tags so it's not too hard to guess right, so it can feel a bit weird at times!
