How does your game fit the theme?
I think there might be multiple interpretations, the main one I was aiming for was how the artwork that you "build" will "scale" with your stats (i.e. dealing more damage, more health, etc.)

really cool ! reminded me a lot of hades. I did not really understand the painting system but it was a lot of polish and content you were able to do in so little time! really impresssive

Love the atmosphere and artstyle! I especially like the paint slash primary attack.  I was a little confused at what the painting system was supposed to do and why I needed to paint(even got killed by an enemy as I was figuring out the painting menu which made me hesitate to bring it up more often) and eventually I got an upgrade which told me that painting improved my stats. Wish I knew that earlier though. Even though the paint slash was really satisfying, the enemy combat felt a little dull(maybe a ranged attack enemy could have spiced things up) but the boss fight was great. Overall, really nice game with a lot of potential!

I don't really a strong connection between the theme and the game. HOWEVER, this game does look amazing and it was very fun to play, the "paint to boost your stats" mechanic is incredibly innovative and I need to see this become a full game. With a bit more level design and sound design this would be a very good game!

looks like a lot of work went into this game. some of the sounds a little hard on the ears. the fighting is a little weird like im not sure if im supposed to paint them or just click them to kill them. the NPCs are cool, and the style of this game is Super unique and cool and as an artist i like all the artist references and that you can Make Art in the game. i might have to come back to this game because im not sure what that masterpiece i started ends up being used for in the game, i would like to see...

Scale connection is weak, but other than that this is a great almost hades clone. I can see this expand to full game.

aplove classic. your dialogue is always really a highlight but overall super fun.

This has the makings of something great, even if it so clearly draws inspiration from Hades.

If this was fleshed out to have more content surrounding the themes, character design, and art mechanic, it's something I could see myself binging in one night to beat it.

The presentation is almost too good considering how loosely I think this fits the jam's theme. I won't dock my rating for it since I can't be certain (and it's not against the rules per se), but I can't shake my hunch that at least some of this was done before the jam began. If not, well then crazy good job. If so, still crazy good job lol.

The art rater gave my Sophia with even bigger badonkadoos a 1.9 / 5, so in other words, art is dead 💙

Nice game, combat's fun and I love the art both for character portraits and the game in general.

Only issue is that I'm not really sure what I was doing with the painting? Also the enemy AI seemed to get stuck whenever I'd walk against a wall.

Really surprised to see another roguelike in a 4-day jam, and it's very well done and truly high quality. I really appreciate the underlying themes related to the artists (not just that, but it personally touched me, like the boss, for instance). The gameplay is well-executed—honestly, I have nothing to criticize. It’s a true example to follow, as it’s impressive to have done it alone. Truly, well done.

That was really good! The only issue I ran into was that the enemies would quite easily loose sight of me so I could just stand in a corner and kill everything the the room. Great sprite work and art style! GG!
