How does your game fit the theme?
I took it quite literally. You play a board game and a majority of actions you take are controlled by the random die roll. However, the twist is you can create your own die and play however you want to play. This also encourages you to adapt to your opponent's strategy, hence making you roll with the flow. ;)

The idea of this game is smart! More than one winning goal provide lots of options for the players, which brings tons of strategies. If there are any suggestions, maybe give both players some coins when the game starts can let the players start deciding their choices earlier instead of just rolling the dice for many times. Good job!!
Yee I think that would be a great idea. Or maybe smth like having a starting currency and you can spend it into whatever dice sides you want, and maybe add a blank side that does nothing if you only one big powered-stuff. Thanks for the comment!
I think this is a good idea for a game! With a little more development time this could be pretty good. I couldn't see the entire board game when I played, and that would have helped me a lot. I also would have liked an AI because I was just playing against myself, but other then that this is a solid entry.
Ai planned for a future update! Also Ig I need to get a new camera too. I kinda liked the restrictive view but Ig seeing the entire board would be a lot nicer. Thanks for trying it out!
I ended up playing this game alone, acting as if I was the AI and trying out a different strategy for each player. I think overall the concept is pretty nice. Changing your die faces to fit your tactics is a pretty neat concept and could work with a lot of different board game styles.
In this one, I ended up simply replacing all of one die's movement faces with attacks after getting enough coins, which seemed like a pretty powerful strategy. It would have been nice if there were things on the board that could only get triggered by movement, so that there would be a good reason to keep it.
Overall seems like something that has potential if it was developed a bit further. From what I can see in the other comments, you have some good ideas already!
The tiles on the board can only be triggered by movement, but I do think regardless attacking is still overpowered currently. The "Pass Home a lot" also was supposed to incentivize movement going all the way but I think I just made those objectives harder to hit (makes sense in hindsight but I thought healing would balance it out.). Thanks for the feedback!
Nice bro
Thanks bro.
I liked your game, and the idea behind it. To me it's like and upgraded form of "Game of the Goose" (ganzenbord), which I used to play a lot as a child.
At the start I was a bit confused as I had read the tutorial but once in the game I promptly forgot all details. Maybe being able to bring up the tutorial in game would solve this issue.
I would have liked to be able to play against a bot who just presses space on their turn. (You said this feature got cut, I'll blame the deadline :) )
Lastly for the balance, I feel like right now the first player to get gold gets a huge advantage. Maybe starting each player off with 3 gold would help with that.
I didnt think of a tutorial button for in the game but that’s a great idea! Maybe spruce it up a bit so it looks nicer too hehe.
Yep blame the deadline. By the time I got around to making AI I had like 3 hours left and I didnt think that was enough time for me to learn smth new.
Yep I agree. I also had an idea of maybe giving you some money to start before loading the game and buying a starting die that way, so u can get a headstart on whatever u wanna do. Both ideas sound good.
I mostly based the idea from the board game Dice Forge but I wanna check this “Game of the Goose” out later. Sounds fun! Thanks for ur comment!
That was really fun! I played with my friend and he won.
Glad you two had fun, and thanks for trying my game out!
Was the game meant to run only in windowed mode? It did so on my PC and maybe it was because of it that even after reading the tutorial I did not know exactly what was going on.
yeah it was sorry. Idk how to use unity’s canvas stuff to make it look good everywhere yet. Will learn soon!
Hey! Nice idea, i think that this has some nice features that can be developed further. I like that I can just accumulate money while standing still as well :p .
Maybe next feature could be that i can buy other things as well like a maybe multiplier when i get on a money field or a shield for when i get on a bad field.
Currently Its very its a bit too random what happens too me, especially in the beginning.
Great effort, and good job!
Those are great ideas! I was thinking of new die faces to add to make it more fun (maybe up to move 10 or smth) and those would help. Also currently there aren’t any bad tile spaces so sorry that wasn’t conveyed well (the attack ones attack your opponent).
That’s what I did while testing too :P
I like the core concept, I wish it was a little bit faster. Maybe slightly more strategy involved? It feels VERY luck dependent.
I was thinking that too. Maybe making goving everyone a pair of dice would help, hmmm….
Also I’m sure I could change some balance issues as well, like with making each win condition.
sadly I could only ever see a bit of the playing board. what also cunfused me is that I played for both characters
Well noted! Also yeah I didnt have time to make an ai opponent so I had to have it local multiplayer, hence you controlling both pieces.
I don’t have another person to play with, so I’m afraid my review will be based on my impressions alone and not much into the depth of the gameplay itself. I think your concept is good, being able to change the faces of a die as you play is an interesting idea. It would be great if you could see the entire playfield at once instead of a small section.
The instrumentation of the music and the sound effects are rather grating, I think the song itself is fine, but less harsh tones would be easier to listen to as background music.
Working on that lol. Also for sone reason I can’t get lmms stuff to not sound loud unless I really lower the master volume in the mixer. It’s a work in progress. Hoping I’ll be able to afford smth paid.
Also an AI opponent was planned but I unfortunately didnt have time to implement it. I’ll also note the suggestion for the camera.
Great game! Would love to see it networked.
Me too but netcode scaaaaary. Maybe later once I understand unity a bit more.
It's a nice game, but the gameplay is a bit limited, or at least I didn't understand it
I did my best to explain in the tutorial but I’m sorry u felt that way. I did have a more involved concept idea literally a couple minutes after the deadline that I was sad I didnt submit but I might still make it later.

Didn't know, my bad. I'll update it if I can, or make a post if needed addressing it.
