How does your game fit the theme?
Dice Heroes was inspired by the idea that rolling dice never seems fair. Too many times I was burnt in XCom with a 97% chance to hit! So what if you could tilt the dice in your favor? What if you could step on the scales? That was my inspiration. Dice Heroes utilizes Dice Upgrades as its core mechanic that allows the players to "tilt" the odds in their favor. Also... I mean... *DICE* heroes 🎲.

The game is super addictive! Really like the core mechanic. Would be cool to improve visuals, add cool backgrounds and etc, as well as add mobile version. Simple yet addictive, great work!

The game has a very addictive core loop - you really nailed the incremental progression loop! I couldn't put it down :) As a fellow X-Com survivor, I really appreciated the ability to improve the odds of the dice over time. One of the most creative and original games I've reviewed so far! Great stuff!

The game is addicting and very hard to quit before finishing. Great job, I would definitely play a full version of this on steam or something.

All in all a fun little idler. Wish there was a New Game+ though! ;)

Enjoyment: 4/5 (The only unenjoyable part was dealing with Entanglement in Hurry mode)
Creativity: 5/5 (The dice mechanics were pretty cool, even if I could abuse it to spend 30 gold to score a guaranteed 2 extra damage per turn)
Presentation: 5/5 (Pixel characters looked amazing)

Full notes here.

Thanks for the kind ratings!

Entanglement is very love-or-hate... I think if people want more "Idler" than they dislike, and if they want more "Incremental" they love... so hard to balance. I had a few ideas for how to make it less polarizing (eventual upgrade that lets you automatically remove it with a hero ability?)

All of your criticisms are welcome, read everything and agree with most of it. Sincerely cheers! Most detailed feedback I've gotten so far.

Nice take on the Idle dungeon crawler. I like the mechanic of 'upgrading' the dice by increasing both the max and minimum values. If you continue to develop it would be good to see more dice mechanics (maybe elemental spells/enemies - you attack with ice or fire depending on the dice roll?) and more alternatives of characters to add to your team.

the 8 bit art is cute, would be good to see more detail if you have more time.

My only criticism besides the known bugs is that it took me a second to understand what was happening, the animations & dice rolls are a little quick.

I was hooked! Couldn't stop until I beat the game. It's all about the healer :)

This is great! I think we both actually came up with similar ideas for a game, ours is not nearly as refined as yours though. I love what you did with it. Finely polished, and an expertly crafted experience. It was very addicting!

Very neat!

A typical idea, but a cool realization! I like it, good job, bro! <3

You picked an awesome concept for the theme and the time constraints. Exceptionally fun. Kinda want see what the high scores would look like and with what strategies. Well done.

This has been my absolute favourite so far, and I'm on about 20 games now!

The upgrade path is very satisfying.

I would only say that it's a shame I can't look at all at the opposition to see what powers they have, or what they're up to. I think you put some effort into giving different characters different strengths. But it's near impossible to keep an eye on that when you're looking out for being entangled!

Great though. Really great. What a good effort getting this done in 48 hours.

This was absolutely amazing! Really addictive and well designed. Such a shame you don't have music! Would love to see a full version of this game.

The music is what disappointed me the most! It was on my todolist since the very beginning. I kept telling myself I'd throw it in with a synth generator. Then I gave up on that when I decided to use imported sounds... but couldn't find music that fit the vibe.

So, right there with you! Thanks for the kind words :)

I loved what you did in progression and balance! Its really nice evolve different aspects of the dice an for different functions in the battle. Really my type of game and i will probably will play again ahahah

I kinda get lost in the beginning and the UI have few tips to help, but after understanding what's going on it was potentially addictive haahah excellent work!!

I was pretty lost at the beginning, but once I got the hang of it, the game was very fun! Kinda has this loop hero vibe and I could easily play this for hours!

Those d20 sprites are hot

A neat little incremental game that I liked a lot

Could have an easier explanation of how to play but it's extremely fun and exciting

Awesome! Played to the end right away. Excellent stuff! Well done

This game very effectively accomplishes everything it sets out to do, which is no small feat for 48 hours. A great submission.

Enjoyable game! The ui of hopping from square to square around the game is really cool! I also really like how you unhop each square on death.

Hello! Thanks for checking out my game. Please feel free to leave honest reviews -- I welcome your feedback 🙂

This was my very first attempt at "real" pixel art for a game. I think it turned out well enough! Sloppy, but it works.
