Very enjoyable. Reminds me of the good ol' days of Contra and Jurassic park.  A lot of good memories and good vibes

However, when I fell into lava, I fell into lava, I am gone poof. Had to relaunch the application

Other than that minor hiccup, everything is pretty well done

Did you try to bring up the menu and hit "Load Checkpoint"? Also, sometimes you have to hit the menu button twice in order to bring it up. A bug that I ran into that I couldn't fix for the life of me. In any case, thank you so much for playing!

That was a very very fun game! The art was neat, and as said below, everything felt so smooth! It really felt satisfying just shooting those dinosaurs, and ofc using the flamethrower.

There were ocassional bugs, like the player not loading back to spawn after death, not dying in lava, wall jumps being stuck, etc. But they weren't really anything game-breaking.

I wish you could expand on this because this really has potential!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind words! Can you elaborate a little on the bugs? When the player didn't load back after death, what happened? Did you hit the control options and "Load Checkpoint"? I know I was having an issue with having the button for the menu to have to pressed twice in order for it to pop up. As far as the not dying in lava, when this happened were you previously hit by an attack? There is a cooldown after taking damage where you have iframes making you invulnerable to attacks, including lava. In any case, thanks again for giving it a try!

For the death of the player, it didn't really automatically load back. I had to manually press the load back to checkpoint button. But Idk this might be intentional design hahaha!

As for the lava, I don't think I was actually attacked before falling in lava. I think it was at the part where I had to use the jetpack to get across a wall of some sort, but I ran out of jetpack fuel, so I decided to jump on lava lol.

Love all the different weapons. Jumping on walls is really fun, everything feels smooth. well done.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Wow, I'm quite impressed! This was a lot of fun to play and I was surprised by how much you were able to get implemented in the time period. There were some bugs here and there, but overall ran quite smooth!

Developer

Thank you so much! <3

A fun game to play. I like the graphics, controls and animations. I love the flamethrower lol. Excellent work.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I love how the flamethrower came out too. :D

Really enjoyed the game, the second level was quite challenging! Had the AI spazz out once but otherwise I mean... Great aesthetic, sound, and controls. Plus it has a flamethrower! :)

Excellent work!

Developer

Thank you so much! Just out of curiousity, was the mob that spazzed out the one with the scythe like blades? I've been having some issues with that one.

Submitted

Yes indeed it was.

Developer

Thought as much, its code got very convoluted and forced me to seek out how to do State Machines which I plan on implementing in the future. Not sure if I'll be able to untangle the mess that is its code though. Thanks again for playing!

A fun little platformer! I couldn't get the linux export working so I played the windows one using wine :D

The gameplay is quite fun, the only issue I had was that I found I could shoot through walls - not sure if that was intentional? Very impressed with the polish and animations and the overall art style ties the game together really well. Along with the music, I got some hotline miami vibes. It even has a little cinematic thing after you beat the first boss! When you finish the game and fall in the pit and the high scores come up does that mean you won??

Thank you for making it, it was fun to play :)

Developer

Thank you so much! Some of the walls are able to be shot through, but some are not. I appreciate the compliments on the art! My wife worked very hard on them. :3

Yes, after you fall off the table, you are met with the shadows of two dogs sniffing a broken miniature figure. This implies he was a mini the whole time. The next scene shows him standing next to a glue bottle implying the owner put him back together. :D

Fun platformer.  Took me a little time to get use to the controls but they work well.   I'll continue playing more to see how far it goes.

Developer

Thank you so much! Are you able to share specifically what took a bit to get used to?

Submitted

Sure, first of all the controls work well.  They're not a problem.  Just me personally running with the keyboard and aiming with the mouse I found myself moving the mouse up instead of using the jump key.  I also couldn't get use to the scroll wheel to change weapons but I'm happy that you provide the alternative of pressing "w".

Developer

Yeah, I noticed that the mouse was pretty finicky with the mouse changes and wasn't sure how to remedy the issue so I figured having the alternative W/S would be helpful. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

Fun platform shooter. Really reminds me of Iji.

Developer(+1)

Oh wow, I just looked up Iji and they do look very similar! Interesting. Thanks for playing!

This was a very fun shooty platformer. I especially liked the sound design. I can't put my finger on it, but the enemy hit and player death sfx hit me in a very good way. I also either found a softlock or I'm doing something dumb. If I die to the first boss, I can't jump further without jetpack fuel and if I go backwards from the checkpoint to get more, I can't jump far enough across the lava to reach the fuel powerup.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for that. Are you running while jumping?

Submitted

Ah, hell. There's a run button, I see now. Sorry.

Developer(+1)

All good! Your post also made me realize that there is very little reason not to run so I just reuploaded the files and made it so run is now the default instead of walk and you can now shift to walk instead. Tested it and it actually feels a lot better. Thanks for playing!

The flamethrower was very satisfying to use!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That one took some fine tuning, but I love the way it came out. Fun fact, I calculated the amount of napalm a real life flamethrower uses and turning it into a variable in the game. :D
