I'm impressed that you did this as your first Godot game! It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I played it all the way through.
One suggestion would be to make it easier to do multiple things at once, since it felt like as soon as a drone saw me I was done. I ended up doing well by "planning", that is inching forward till they were on the edge of the screen, locking on, setting the turrets and then approaching to within range. I wasn't sure if that was as designed, or a cheese move. It would have been nice I think, to make it easier to move and shoot. Something like have left button always move and right button always lock on and lock on starts firing by default.
I never figured out how to do anything besides run into stuff and die :(
Its a fully mouse driven game. Did you try the button on the bottom left then clickin where you want to go?
Yes, and wherever I went I just crashed into stuff
I like the orbit mechanic, took me a bit to figure out how to actually shoot but I got it eventually. Good job.
Hello loved the game!!!
Really cool game! Really liked the mechanics
The end is hilarious! xD
Good game :)
You should really add particles and sound!
Interesting game.
I would have loved if you could switch between the modes/weapons by keyboard shortcuts. In godot there is an option to add keyboard shortcuts to buttons, which makes this very comfortable :)
All in all pretty fun game and impressive mechanics! Well done!
Thank you. That seems a nice easy way to add shortcuts. Thanks for sharing.
I'll have to admit, I'm a sucker for space games, and this was a good one! Some things I noticed were that graphics could use some polishing, and so do the controls. Speaking of which, if you make this into a full game, PLEASE make the targeting controls a bit more intuitive! Also, please consider making approach mode selected by default. Overall, though, it's a great entry!
This game is quite amazing. At first, I found it so frustrating, then figured out much of it...
I believe if you added one element: when you click Orbit, and you move your mouse, show both the Orbit and the line to Approach the Orbit and the intersection. The fact that the Approach doesn't always get into the Orbit at the closest point is...challenging. ;-)
Adding Orbit direction would also be intriguing...
Beautifully done! And it's a great introduction to the complexities of Space Travel!
I would love to talk to you about the math, of intersecting lines and circles, and calculations of intersecting tangents.
That is really impressive, being your first godot game. I wished the orbit mechanic was needed more often, as this was the most fun part for me.
Nice game!!!
I absolutely love the idea of the Orbit mechanic!
Good game. Would like to switch buttons with the keyboard.
Great job ! I would love to have keyboard shortcuts to switch between modes, and some 8bit sound effects as well
Good job, especially for your first game! The levels have some variety and are fun to play, and I like the mechanics.
Nice game really fun mechanics a bit hard at first but overall Great game
Good Job :)
This was a lot of fun! I liked the different controls available to the player, and enjoyed setting myself up in orbits and launching artillery at the enemies. It seemed like the health bar was a bit pointless though as any hit would kill you. Great effort for a solo dev's first Godot game, nice one
