You did what I couldn't do, to submit a prototype. Congrats, it was fun. The animations were quite good.
By your own admission, it's not much of a game, but what you have done is great. The 3d assets are nice. I like the way you've done a fixed camera position in the corner of the room and that the view switches from camera to camera as you cross over in to a new room
The character and environment models are great, just need some lighting/environment to really bring them out. The animation of the player swinging the axe is spot on!
I think you are doing a disservice only calling this an "art demo", there are still many game aspects to it, and you might be missing out on players by only referring to is at such.
I sympathise with many of your comments about 3d.. it's tough, but stick at it! :)
Assets look beautiful!
Camera and graphics for main character were fab!
Gameplay lacking in fun - and really need a good soundtrack here to add some atmosphere.
But as one 3D Dev to another, I appreciate the time that goes into something like this!
Impressed by the results, even though you didn't have time to turn it into a game. That's a lot of stuff done in a week.

The character design and animation are great reminds me of Harvest Moon Tree Of Tranquility which I love! I think the thing that would give the biggest boost to the experience would be sound effects even just a small background loop and a pickaxe hitting noise would add a lot.

You've designed a nice looking ancient temple to explore! I liked your pick axe animations and the ability characters had to dig through the mounds.
Personally I find the Resident Evil character controller style to be hard to use for third person controllers, and prefer something based on the orientation of the viewport camera. But then some like this style too.
