Game Description
My first attempt at making a game in Godot (first ever game jam too). Hope you like it.

How does your game tie into the theme?
The player has to use Ritual circles to sacrifice their enemies in order to gain power >:D

I really enjoyed this! I am pretty impressed - especially as this is your first jam with Godot

I love this type of game, very simple concept, easy to learn, hard to play.

Excellent!

Developer

Actually my first jam ever! also never used Godot before or GDscript before. I really wanted to learn it, so I joined this jam to give myself motivation!
It was a really fun experience, and I feel like i learned a lot.

Thank you so much for playing my game, and I'm really happy you enjoyed the experience!

Cool idea! Too bad the HTML version has some performance issues. It also seems that sometimes you get healed between rounds, and other times not? Or is that dependent on buying the Max HP up (or some other upgrade)?

Developer(+1)

Yeah sadly the HTML5 version can't handle everything the windows version can. I do recommend trying out the download version if you're on windows, as it works flawlessly, without slow downs.
Currently there is no healing between rounds, but the max hp upgrade does fully heal you!

Thank you so much for playing my game btw!

I was wondering how many Vampire Survivors would show up this jam - interesting twist on the model - though as others have pointed out, it does sort of make the gameplay a bit monotonous.

No major bugs or errors that I ran into! With a bit of polish, could be a fun Vamp Survivors game.

Very fun, the framerate dies sadly wave 3 and up, but very fun!

Developer

Sadly the HTML version suffers a lot from slow downs. I do recommend the downloaded version (if you're running windows) for a much better experience.
Thank you so much for playing my game!

I replayed this a bunch. Unique idea of having other ritual circles that have different benefits. Great game.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game! I'm really glad you enjoyed your time playing :)

While I was playing, I encounter lots of slowdowns during gameplay, maybe you want to tackle performance next time, overall fun game.

Developer

I'm sorry, the HTML5 version can't really handle everything going on. I also did not get to test this version much during development. The downloaded version works flawlessly (if you're on windows), but for the future I will definitely try to test on other platforms as well, and optimize it as best as possible)

Thank you so much for playing my game!

Like this one, nice upgrades, I can clearly see that you realy made it in one week! I think there might be an option to shoot manually

Developer

I will experiment with manual shooting and see how it changes the feel of the game, and see if i want to fully add it. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you so much for playing my game!

Pretty good for a first game jam! My team and I did a similar concept ( we even have a big pentagram in the middle of the playfield!) so good job on getting over some of the hurdles that come with the type of game! My advice would be to increase the size of your tileset, the small bricks are a bit eye-straining.

Pretty good for first game jam, reminds me of vampire survivors

Main issue is that the gameplay later in the game is just around running around in circles chipping down the enemies. I think a way to fix this could be to reduce the number of enemies per round in the beginning (so the player gets more opportunity to get gold for upgrades)

otherwise, well done

Developer

I ran out of time to try to balance everything/create new waves and test them for balance, and i completely agree that a lot needs to be done to create more dynamic gameplay besides just "running around in circles" haha.
I am hoping to keep working on this in the future, and tweak the waves and enemies, along with introducing enemies with different shooting patterns, and different AI behavior, to hopefully fix that.

Thank you so much for playing my game, and for leaving a comment with great advice/constructive criticism!

I liked it very funny I do not know if it is my wifi but in level 3 I stick everything but it is very fun

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game! I am aware of the issue in wave 3 while playing in HTML 5. I will look into fixing that.
If you want to play without the issue, the Windows build in the downloads does not have that issue :)

It's a great job for the first gamejam! And I enjoyed the gameplay too.

The only thing that kind of bugged me is this gray bricks background texture, slightly hurts my eyes in motion :)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game first of all! I had a blast with this project, even though I didn't really get to accomplish everything I set out to do before the dead line (including working on the background textures since they bothered me as well)
Thank you for the constructive feedback!
