I really enjoyed this! Nothing to hard for my tried end-of-day brain to learn. Straight into the gameplay without a thousand lines of backstory... perfect!

Gets my vote!

Developer

glad you enjoyed it!

I like it. Very fun. It does lag on my puny laptop.

Nice paint-like drawings. How to aim?

Developer

No aiming, different spells attack in different ways, but they all auto-attack!

sweet bullet heaven! inspired by runic survivor perhaps?

loved all the different enemy attacks like the broom flying at you, and you even have huge bosses!

I had a few performance issues in html, and i did wish my spells would synergize better together and stack, but I found it pretty fun!

great job!

I love the idea. It's a mix between a top-down fighting game and tower defense. However, pretty soon there are way too many enemies. I feel like you should be able to press space or shift to roll/dodge and avoid projectiles. It should also have some audio. Other than that, it was very fun and addictive! Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Enemies can become a bit too overwhelming yes! A roll/dodge would be an excellent addition, maybe next time..but you didn't hear audio? There's quite a nice soundtrack and effects, maybe check your settings?

Sorry, I had my computer on mute. Oops.

Addicting game! I really enjoyed playing it, I would love if it had a score system, also after playing for too long the game get really laggy and unstable, but overall fun game!

Had an enjoyable time playing your game. A lot of little details that really make it shine. One thing that stood out was how the sound changes a bit when I get low health! Game play was addicting, and everything felt smooth. Great work.

Developer(+1)

For the low health sound change, it's as easy as having an audio bus with a low pass filter that you activate when the health is low enough. It removes the high frequencies from the sounds and gives you that classic "i'm low health" effect! Thanks for your good comment, we appreciate it a lot!

Hooly moly just praise. So good, love the muffled sound on low health, the animations + a boss. Great stuff.

Developer

Thank you! It was my first time working with audio in Godot, and I was surprised with how much you can do in engine!

Submitted(+3)

A really polished game! The art and the sound are very beautiful. Also, the great amount of enemy variety is a big plus.

A leaderboard or a scoring system would fit perfectly in this game!

Great polish, great juice, it feels great to play

Not much innovation, it's vampire survivor after all, but very enjoyable to play thanks to all the little details:

- Enemy variety

- Enemy death animations

- Bosses

- Great SFX and music

Good job !

Developer

Yeah, we went for something not super innovative as I did most of the gameplay coding, and it was my first game. Thanks for the feedback!

Very good job! Vampire survivor games have always been a favorite of mine, so it's a pleasant surprise that you made such a good one with such little time. The only complaint I can think of is that later on, the game starts suffering from visual clutter, so I can't really tell what's going on. Nice game!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, we ran out of time to balance the late game. we actually had the opposite problem until late into the jam, where the player could wipe the whole field with 1 or 2 fireballs!

Well done everyone! I always enjoy this sort of progression in games. I think more contrast on the things you're supposed to avoid could help to make it feel less random.

Submitted (1 edit) (+3)

It was super good. It's awesome how much you guys were able to do.

One thing that I disliked was that at some point the amount of the attacks and the randomness of it all made there be a bit too many things happening at the same time on the screen.

Developer(+1)

It was quite a challenge to balance the effects and enemies, it definitely can become a bit chaotic haha..glad you liked it!

Submitted(+3)

Cool submission. Fun sound effects and straight forward to understand!

Developer(+1)

Happy to hear you found the sound effects cool, it was pretty crunchy at the end but worth it! :)

Submitted(+3)

Liked it a lot, it is actually amazing how much of a game you made considering the time restriction

Developer(+2)

Thank you, we worked pretty hard on it!

Developer(+2)

Thank you! I'm still surprised on how much polish we managed to get in, mostly on the graphics and animation side!
