I really enjoyed playing this! It’s beautiful, chill, and well polished.

Well done!

Wow, incredibly beautiful game! I loved the chill atmosphere and just exploring the environment to find stuff! My Steam Deck did have a little trouble running on the default graphics settings but once I turned off “High-End Graphics” it ran quite smoothly.

The first time I brought knowledge back to the research station, I had a bit of trouble finding the “entrance” where you could actually use it - but once I knew where it was there wasn’t much trouble. It might have been nice to have a “leave” button or something to restore camera control without having to swim away - as is, I found it a little unintuitive how to close the menu.

I was a little confused about the purpose of the magenta map icons and the scary “red zones” I found exploring around, but it seemed like a nice change in tone - if I could figure out what the danger was.

Overall, very nice job - this is one of the most polished-feeling games I’ve seen in the jam, congratulations!

This is the second underwater based entry i play (so far, wizards is for some reason still the more dominant theme of this jam!) and again it's really good! I think that for being a jam entry this is already really impressive, but the two places i would focus on for a finished entry would be the camera control and refining the graphics. Otherwise, no notes. Great job!

What a great entry! I really enjoyed to explore the highly detailed environments and got all 17 collectibles.

The atmosphere created by the music and visuals was great, be it the relaxing tone and feeling of wonder in the waters near the research lab, or the foreboding tone the game shows when you are near the red sea urchins.

At the start, when I collected the first knowledge, I tried to find the entrance to the research lab, before realizing that you just need to swim close to it.

After I’ve collected 15 knowledge, the foreboding music that was playing near the red sea urchins was replaced with the calm one, however the usual red hue of the waters was present.

There were some performance issues, such as lagging in the beginning. The game requires a lot of computer resources to run, the GPU, it had near 100% usage and was heated considerably during the gameplay (even with high-end graphics disabled) . Fortunately, CPU and memory didn't require as much.

Thanks for playing our game! Glad you liked it!

At the end, the menu theme is playing again. In game there was the peaceful and the dangerous theme.

Yes the beginning have some loading issues, I assume it is because of the shaders.

Hi Team,

This is the most original, unique take on this theme I've seen so far, congrats! :)

The game is super polished, with a really great atmosphere. It's amazing really what a team of talented individuals can do in such a short amount time!

It was a super chill experience.

Hats off to all of you.

Excellent work! I was really impressed by how expansive and beautiful the world looked. The music gave it a nice chill vibe. I did find the light in front of your character a little distracting, it actually felt like it covered up your view a bit. I was also confused how to visit the research station at first – I kept trying to climb the ladder.

Was there a penalty to dying? It sent me back to the research station with my knowledge, so blowing myself up on a mine was actually the fastest way to get back to the station :)

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! Glad you liked the world, which took lots of effort! I was not sure about the lightning if it is good or not, thanks for pointing that out! There was no penalty to dying. I was not sure how to add something which makes sense, without destroying the experience. On the other hand I thought it is cool if the players get the upgrades faster and have some fun in a short time, than stretching the game. Also that way you get some visuals and sounds :)

Incredible work! The music was fire, the graphics were amazing, the movement was satisfying! I put all my points into boost speed so I could move faster. I was pretty confused why the water turned red all of a sudden, was it that I was close to enemy fish? Also how did you create the environment, did you hand place each item or have some random spawning?

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! Glad you liked it. The red area is intended to be the dangerous zones. The terrain was made in Blender and texture painted with Blender and Krita. The level design was build with subscenes, single items, and multi mesh instances.

Great job on this one! The ambiance (especially the music) was on point, the controls felt fluid and overall it felt very professional and polished. I think it was a bit of a stretch in terms of the theme, but still an enjoyable time.

Thanks for playing our game. Glad that you liked it! We had put a lot of effort into ambience and polishing hence it is glad to see it is getting noticed and went well!

The world is beautiful, and the ambience is great! Me being me, I ended up putting all my points into the boost upgrade for maximum speed right from the get go, so I can as fast as possible <.<

Also, I kinda resorted to purposely dying so I can quickly get back to spawn for a quick upgrade, since I felt that there were no downsides to me dying.

Anyway, this was really pleasant and fun! Thanks for making such a cool game!

Developer

Aww, thank you, that means a lot :)

I did the same hehehe (though I kept dying to carelessness)

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! I understand the boost upgrade intention pretty well! I was not sure how to embed some downsides to the dying. I also wanted to avoid to make the game too harsh. I wanted that the feeling comes through and the player don’t gets disturbed while exploring. Using intentional dying is something I also found in my later tests but kept it. (Then at least you see the animations and sound of it :))

Glad to see that you liked it!

By far my favorite entry in the jam. Very impressive stuff and the atmosphere is really something too. Great job!

Thank you, you're too kind :)

Thank you for playing our game! The Level design and atmosphere took me 2 full days to make. I am really glad it is getting noticed and that you liked it!

Enjoyed this one so much! It was pretty satisfying to upgrade the player and explore the remaining knowledge, and slamming into mines with god speed. :D I like the fact that red areas make it harder to see the mines, it added extra challenge.

Developer

We're glad you enjoyed, and thanks for playing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our game! Yes, the upgrade system was not easy to balance actually. I was testing a lot that it’s getting a) noticed by the player b) don’t scale like hell and breaking the game.

But I also wanted to have nice top-speed and oxygen at max level so people can enjoy that. Glad you liked it.

Also the red areas were hard to balance between keeping it playable and being this “challenging experience”. I already got also feedback that the red areas where too hard to see. Prob. some setting would have been helpful here. But glad to see it turned out well for you! Being more challenging was my intention there.

Really cool game. The art is so impressive, it looked very professional. I really felt like I was under water. :) Reminds me of Subnautica, and it reminds me of one my previous game jam entries, Mermaids Mural.  I loved using the burst ability! I got 15 of the knowledge pieces, but I didn't quite understand what to do at the purple spots.

Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for those kind words!

Yes, very subnautica indeed :-)

We failed to add a popup or other visual feedback on the purple spots. They were checkpoints where you respawn.

Will have a look at Mermaids Mural :-)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our game and thanks for the nice feedback. Probably I should give Subnautica a try after this to see what had been missing or possible to add.

What an amazing work! I feel like I should have paid to play this.

Absolutely everything was on point; the graphics, the sounds, the music, the controls... The only issues I noticed was that it lags quite a bit when loading areas even with a pretty powerful PC, and when above the water some of the things underwater become oddly visible.

What else can I say other than that it's a flawless entry? Congrats to all of you!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! We're glad you enjoyed the game :)

Sadly we only noticed the loading lag with about half an hour left in the jam haha! Thankfully it seems to resolve itself quickly.

For sure, it's not a big deal at all. Something always has to be sacrificed in a jam. :D

Developer

Glad to see your back again in another Godot Wild Jam! Thank you very much for your kind words. That game took a lot of effort and great to see it is getting noticed!
