and I've never felt more seen
Great! Nice fun dungeon crawl. Felt good to play.
This was pretty good, nice 2d lights.
Movement could use some work, but I do appreciate I could leave the button pressed and move in that direction.
Thanks for playing!
Any suggestions for improving the movement?
yep, lots of good ideas here, specially since its the same genre: https://youtu.be/xSYVQc7cH-4
Amazing feel and style! I really liked the retro aesthetic with the blocks of the characters being black instead of transparent.
Nice SFX and lighting too! I played the windows version it was really nice I did a couple of times already :).
Only downside I would say is that I got a bit confused in the begining because I was getting pieces of something and then I randomly found the actual Key and could skip the last room on down right which I just went for the extra fight.
Really well done, Good Work and keep it up!
It's nice to hear that you enjoyed yourself enough to play it twice.
The way that the map pieces work is that when you find all 3, the key is revealed. However currently the key is actually there and you can pick it up but it's just hidden. We discussed whether it should be able to be picked up while hidden and decided that it should, but perhaps that wasn't the right call.
Keep an eye out as we will continue releasing updates on Itch, and we're planning to set up a Steam page for the game soon!
Really nice, left me wanting more to explore! Loved the art style. Played on Mac with controller and it worked great. I am still confused about the Melee class, didn't seem to do any damages, so I kept fireballing everything.
Thanks for giving it a go! The “HammerMan” was unfinished, but we left it in as an easter egg. Fireballing your way out is definitely the go for now!
This was awesome! The combat flow is fun and easy to drop right into, and the visuals and SFX really spice it up nice. The animations and lighting are excellent. I appreciate you including the controls at the start as well, something I should have done with ours and will learn from for next time. I went through the run a few times and didn't encounter anything that felt problematic or confusing, my only thought is that I'd like to see it expanded with more stages - combat could potentially be a bit more challenging as well :)
But with only a week, we can all only fit so much! Overall awesome work here.
Hey, nice graphics and that song is really catchy. Reminds me of that Dr. Mario song 😅
Anyway, I found the key really fast on my first playthrough and managed to escape within the first minute of playing. I suppose it is procedurally generated.
The movement mechanic was both enjoyable and annoying. It felt like I was lagging when I held down the move buttons. Maybe when the button is held down, you move smoothly between tiles and when you let go you snap to the nearest tile.
Great game, I had fun playing it! That music is amazing. Makes me want to replay this game multiple times.
I played this when you linked it in the discord so I am glad i rediscovered it! It is really fun, i enjoy the older graphic style and control feels, you did a great job
Thanks so much for playing not once, but twice! Your words are very kind. Thank you!
it’s like a real-time version of Rogue, neat!
I accidentally hit “e” after finding the key, and it let me escape without finding the door. I managed to speedrun the game in 5 or 6 second with this strategy.
Speed run master
Nice one, enjoyed the battle. Also was able to yeet through the map haha so speed run, check

Very cool gameplay. I've enjoyed the graphics and the combat. The game was a bit short, but good nonetheless! Nice job!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. We will definitely add more levels post-jam!
Had a great time playing this. The graphics and lighting were really cool. I liked the combat a lot. It was cool shooting a fireball early and having the enemy jump in the way. I also liked how your attacks could be blocked by the enemy attacks. Overall, great job!
The attack blocking was totally accidental but it feels like a decent mechanic. I'm definitely going to explore that a bit more in future.
Thanks for playing!
I love the game play and graphics. I didn't end up using the hammer character because I had no idea what it was for. beat the level after 3 tries, wish there are more levels.
Question: what is the intention of behind a black bg on all the character sprites?
Thanks for playing! We definitely want to add more levels.
The hammer character wasn’t quite finished so we left it in as an Easter egg.
The black background on the characters is just an aesthetic choice. Gives it more of a retro vibe from the early DOS days where characters were just ASCII arranged in a grid
I liked the different attack magics I could use. Controls took some getting used to but it was good. the glow on the key looked cool and the lighting in general was neat. Good work.
Thanks so much for trying it out!
I love that you found the other magic attacks. We didn't list the controls for those because the other attacks are not as polished at the fireball.
The controls are a bit archaic but it's a retro style game so the idea is that it kind of fits :)
