That was silly and fun! I had similar issues with the Linux export as thesquaregroot mentioned. I ran the Windows build successfully and played for a few minutes. Not sure if there was a strategy beyond alternating socializing and pushing product, but I still enjoyed it thematically. Variety to the decision making would have probably kept me engaged longer.

Great first jam submission. I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks for the feedback, it helps a lot. Definitely over-scoped considering it was my first jam, I ended up throwing out a majority of the "socializing" mechanic and even then didn't have a fully functional game loop to playtest until the last 48 hours. Lessons for the next one.

Really fun idea! I had trouble getting this to run on Linux. The Linux export showed the icons but for some reason the list of people never populated, so I couldn’t actually do anything. Running the Windows version via wine, I was able to get it working but the icons were just replaced with boxes. Fortunately I was able to play it that way, having seen the icons in the other version, but figured I’d let you know about these issues. Not a huge deal.

I liked the way that socializing and pushing products worked against each other, it definitely felt like an MLM simulation.

Nice job!

Thanks for the heads up, had no way of of testing it on anything but Windows. I initially tried for an HTML version, but it had the same problem of the icons not showing up and by that time it was too late to make art for all the faces. I think I'm eventually gonna shoot for a full HTML release with actual artwork for all the faces and icons so that should hopefully get it all sorted.

This game really makes you feel like a dropshipper

jokes apart, quite the feat for the timeframe of the jam!  pushing the boxes around to deliver them instead of just clicking on a button is a cool idea, although I wish there was a way to better tell apart what type of product I'm holding since it uses energy

I was originally hoping to show the product name when hovering over a box and maybe even add an ability to open the boxes, but I ended up spending half the jam playing whack-a-mole with bugs in my simulator so I just ran out of time lol. Maybe someday.

This is a strange little game, and I really liked it :) Something about repeatedly apologising to my family member in order to sell them more cucumber gel spoke to me. The boxes filling up your apartment were great, too.

I think a few of my people were bugged and slept 100% of the time.

Lol it looks like I somehow screwed up setting the sleep/wake times for the people who get generated as part of the pyramid, so literally MOST of the people in the game are always sleeping.

I guess they're all just super lazy 🤷‍♂️
