Stunning visuals and the background ambient sounds are very nice! I am at awe with the polish on this one. I felt sorry for the cryptid, for all the times it had to endure getting squashed by those traps.

The only thing that I found not so nice, was the slow acceleration of the cryptid. Somehow that felt a little hampering.

Very great polished game, overall!

The graphics and audio were beautiful and immersive. The platforming puzzles were fun to solve and use the theme wonderfully! Great work. As others have said, some of the movements felt like gotchas where I would know where to jump and set up the environment for it, but then I also needed to precisely jump at the last few pixels.

Wow this is some great pixel art and the sound really is a mood. The movement feels sticky though, and this is a movement based puzzler. I really like this game (it has a feel like the game Limbo) it’s just the movement does not feel good enough to carry me through all the “gotchas”.

Fair, I plan on completely updating the platformer controllers if I turn this into a full game. I also plan on adding other platformer mechanics like ledge grabbing

Cool game, especially for your first one. Some of the hitboxes felt a bit off at time, mostly on the falling objects. As others have said the gravity does feel a bit too high. The artwork is amazing, love the cryptid character.

Thanks! Im thinking of turning this into a full game. I have the idea and style in mind, Prob gonna do 1 or 2 smaller projects to practice my weaknesses before I start tho

Limbo on a budget. Love it.

LOL. The funny thing is I actually just chose this grayscale artstyle because it was easier to make assets and I could focus on core mechanics rather than art. My brother commented it looked similar to limbo and after looking up some playthroughs of it, I designed the game with some inspiration from it.

The controls are a little frustrating IMO -- I felt like I had trouble being precise with jumps. And, I think other folks are right when they mentioned the gravity feeling a little too strong. But the artwork and audio are beautiful and creepy (I love the unnerving cryptid vocalizations), and you've employed the jam's theme beautifully. The puzzles were enjoyable and seem to be the right amount of difficult. And, I had fun riding in the little cart. :)

Overall I think this is a really good submission, great job!

Thank you, I plan to turn this into a full game at some point so ill make sure to polish those platformer controls a bit lol. I think the gravity just picked up too quickly which I should be able to fix, problem was I only really got feedback from my brother about the gravity after most of the level design was done already

nice. had the same idea but reverse. but the execution is much better on your end. only problem i had was the awkward controls. and the brightness not setting properly when resetting the game during death animation. very well executed puzzles. reminds me of LIMBO

Overall, it's a cool concept and a great-looking game. I like the physics-based puzzles, and the art captures the vibe really well, the only thing I honestly dislike would be the jumping physics. When I jump it feels like I have 2 cement blocks attached to my feet and instantly go down, making platforming a bit annoying. Other than that, the game is #swag

Developer

Thanks! A couple people did also comment on the gravity, I think it picks up too fast, maybe next time I should be a bit more careful with the values on my platforming controller lol

The sound gives me the Heebie-jeebies.. And I am sure that was the goal so well done! The visuals were also spot on and the puzzles took a bit of thinking but were easy enough to be enjoyable
