Game Description
In Lantern Light, you play as a small firefly collecting light orbs to stave off the encroaching darkness. Collect the light orbs to keep your lanterns lit for as long as possible in this bullet hell-like game.
How does your game tie into the theme?
The light level bar corresponds to the light around the firefly and lanterns, so when your bar lowers the dark becomes more prominent. Without collecting orbs, the firefly's light dims and is eventually taken by the darkness.

This feels like a bullet-hell version of pac-man and it combines both of what makes those games fun imo into one which is great. I love the dash sound effect and I think the music is #swag. Good job
I think part of the screen was missing for me. I couldn't see when my light was running out. I do really like the idea of a bullet hell game where you want to contact the bullets though.
Love the idea of a bullet-hell where you actually need to catch the bullets instead of dodging them. The graphics look great and loved the little sound the bug made when you dashed. I did feel like it was extremely hard at the start, but then I remembered you could dash and it felt like the balance was way better.
Thanks so much for the feedback we are glad you enjoyed it :)
Fun game, just seems the difficulty is scaled up to 10 initially. Would be nice to maybe start a easier, and build up difficulty over time. Other than that, the graphics were great. I loved the background shading effect of the trees. I appreciated the dash to get to the orbs. And I liked that the audio was cohesive. Great work!
Thanks for the feedback we really appreciate it!
What a neat idea! I died a few times before I noticed the light bar at the bottom. It got easier once I did; but was still a challenge!
Glad it felt like there was a challenge and glad you enjoyed it!
Neat game! Nicely balanced, I often felt on edge. Good work!
Thanks a bunch !
This was fun! My best score is 105.
The challenge level always kept me feeling like I was just a split second away from death, which was very engaging. And it was satisfying to go against my bullet hell instincts and crash into as many projectiles as possible.
Great game and congrats on your first jam!
Wow! Maybe we need to implement a leaderboard system... We appreciate the feedback thanks for the comments :)
Really fun game
Thanks!
The game was a little bit large for my screen, and there was no full screen for it so this was on my side. But was able to play a little bit of it and the reverse bullet hell is a nice mechanic here. Cheers!
Yeah, we didn't know how to make the game's window properly size itself during full screen, but will make sure to figure it out for future jams and games alike. We appreciate the feedback!
Cool game, I particularily liked the audio, well done
Thanks a bunch :)
