I really love the remix of Pacman with survival-horror. It works oddly well and not in an obnoxious way like some old Xbox Live Arcade game vibe.
At first glance the graphics seem like the best part, but the audio might win out. The death sound was very fun! Nice job.
Great take on PacMan, I loved all of the sound effects, especially the one that played when the lights shut off and the death sound. Also, nice visuals with some stuff glowing in the dark.
Edit: If there's one thing that felt weird for it was the controls, I was sometimes running into the walls before I realized, but that's more of a personal preference than an issue.
I've tried to give the player a bit of inertia (or rather, I toned down the inertia from the player controller I made for an earlier iteration of the idea), which might have been a poor call in retrospect. Appreciate the comment!
It feels like you've executed well on the idea that you had. Very much feels like Pac-Man and the limited visibility allows a new layer of challenge since ghosts are still visible out of the flashlight range. I had to keep a keen eye on the walls around me to know if I was safe or not. The audio levels were a little low for me compared to the footsteps. I couldn't make them go any higher.
I suspect the audio levels being all over the place is a result of my habit of turning my volume on everything down to 20% or less. I'll make sure to run whatever I do next by someone with a more typical audio setup. Thanks for the feedback!
Good take on the pac-ster. I wasn't able to complete the level so maybe it was too hard. I think its weird that I can go around the pickups. Maybe make those collisions bigger or wall-width. Also, speeding up the character would be nice. I didn't know I could control the flashlight with the mouse at first. Thanks for including the menu and options. Keep up the great work!
Don't worry, the closest I've got to winning on the last version was 140/166. Probably should have tuned the difficulty down a bit :]
Thanks for the feedback!
Giving off packman vibes. The flashlight movement is so funky and doesn't feel good.žAlso the running sfx is kinda late. It still plays a second after the player stops moving. Keep those two in mind next time:). But other than that a solid game!
Originally I was going to tie the flashlight more to the sprite animation, but never got around to it. I will defer to your light providing appliance expertise on this. Thanks for the feedback!
I loved that ! Nice re-imagination of Pacman, great job !
Interesting spin on Pac-man. I like that the flashlight has multiple uses. Sounds design is quite nice except for the sound when the lights toggle off is bit too loud.
