that's an impressive game, really polished! I liked the gameplay, but some animation are not that clear, such as the punch, and the FRANKIE BALLS OF FURY do not always go in the direction you shot them, but that's an impressive game nonetheless!

The title, loading, and death screens were all super cute and impressive! Loved the mock achievement upon the first death. Your dev team logo/name is lovely as well! A lot of personality shined through :)

I'd say the main issue for me was that aiming was super difficult. It seemed like it hitting the right target was a careful balance between placing Frankie & clicking the mouse, and I couldn't always get it quite right. Nonetheless, loved the adorable pixel art, and the background track during the game added an ominous feeling (the bg music on the title screen felt a bit off, but maybe it was meant to add levity/humor). I'm never a huge fan of scream sound effects because they can be loud and jarring, but you did a good job keeping the volume on them reasonable.

Really solid entry!

I love that you incorporated a full menu and a loading screen. You even had at least one achievement, which is really cool. Thanks for taking the extra time to do those things. The sound effects were a little extreme for me, at times I wasn't sure if I was getting hit and taking damage or just rampaging around the countryside.

Cool game, thanks for your entry!

Very fun game! I had some trouble understanding how to aim with the green ball before I figured out you could only shoot forward. But I really love the juicy effects and the chaotic vibes, and overall the game was very enjoyable. Well done!

Fun pixel art game 😊

GAMEPLAY
Fun game with nice old-school pixel graphics featuring punch and shoot mechanics. The main character looked cool, though maybe a bit too large for the screen, taking up a lot of space. Because of this, I couldn’t always see if I was running into villagers. Tip: when walking in a certain direction, you could make the camera look slightly ahead. Searching for "camera offset" or "camera look ahead" on Google might lead you to helpful code for this. It was fun to play, even though there wasn’t a clear end goal. Shooting and punching villagers was enjoyable on its own.

VISUALS
The game had nice pixel art, and the main character design was cool 😊

AUDIO
The eerie background sound added to the atmosphere.

THEME
The theme "You Are the Monster" was definitely incorporated with this main character.

All in all, a nice jam game. Keep up the good work! 💪

hey 😁 thanks so much for checking it - I appreciate the tips massively. I'll defo have a look at the camera, I've got the unity cinemachine installed so it's got some really cool options for that type of stuff 😁👍

Glad you got some fun out of it, that was my only goal after I realised I'd never complete my initial conception in 3 days, but I'm totally going to turn it into the full version and I'll take all this feedback with me, it's invaluable so thanks so much for your time 🙌😊

The game is very enjoyable, I really loved its aesthetic. Personally, I’m a fan of things that evoke an older style, and this game does that wonderfully through its graphics

I didn’t quite understand the objective of the game. I believe it’s just to kill the people, right? I tried to collect the green coins, but I realized they weren’t the objective when I took damage and recovered health after picking them up (or was that a bonus for completing a goal?)

I encountered a few minor collision issues, like enemies entering the houses where I couldn’t attack, and I didn’t quite get how the right click attack works, although I assume it’s just aiming and shooting (for some reason, it never seemed to go in the right direction). But I understand that time is short, and these problems can happen.

The atmosphere turned out really well, congratulations on the project, and good luck in the jam!

Thanks, I really appreciate the time and feedback :D  So glad you enjoyed it - yeah I was pleased how Frankie came out, took me half of the time to get him done lol so some of the mechanics are a bit...off for sure haha.

Yeah so right click fires the green balls, and the reticle is to aim it. I should have made that a left click I think just cos I'd made the animation and decided his left click should punch, but I think that needs a rethink!

Yep the pills are just a health boost, the original idea was kill all the villagers and pick up coins, and also health, and eventually rescue the Doc, but fell quite far short from that :D

Thanks so much, really appreciate it :)
