Awesome idea and really well executed. Was confusing at first, and would be amazing with some more animations and some cool sound. Love the upgrade stuff and the whole idea is inspired, you should definitely keep developing it!
Nice work ;)
Very nice Submission with great art. At First I was a Bit confused since I didnt know where I had to click. A Short Tutorial would be very great as well as Sound / music.
The Concept itself is splendid I think. With enough polish it could become a Great Game.
Gratz on your Submission!!
The art style is just wonderful, a beautiful blend of pixel art + illustrations like you'd find in a book. How did you create the non-pixel art? (If you're comfortable sharing!) The portrait style for the enemies was truly charming and even humorous. Had to choose the wizard because of his hat's swagger and presence.
Music/sounds would've added a lot to the game! I can understand if you wanted to make your own but didn't have the time. Those are often the last things I add, so I usually turn toward free resources, especially in a time crunch.
I had no idea what to do at first, then I figured out I had to click the monster portrait to send them at the enemy. Maybe some direction in a tutorial screen would've been helpful for that!
Thank you so much for your advice! A tutorial and sound effects are indeed the first things Iāll add to the final version of the game!
The visuals are hand-drawn, using pastels and paint, on paper and fabric (for the menu background). Hereās my friendās Instagram account—heās the one who handled the visual side of things!
Thank you for sharing! What a fun way to make art for a game. Very inspiring.
Good job putting out a complete game! If Im being honest I wasn't really sure what I was doing launching monsters until I read some of the other reviews, but I'm guessing I was meant to try and aim them to hit the wizard? I just kind of kept summoning when I had mana but I wasn't really sure what I was doing or if it was having any effect.
Cool concept though, I think it's a great foundation for something to build on!
Thank you! You're right; it's missing a few hints or a tutorial. To defeat the mage, the best approach is to use the third monster, which can shoot projectiles from a distance, and avoid the fireballs surrounding him.
Thanks for playing!
Now this one's very interesting! was confused at first since i picked the wizard and im guessing its the hardest one to fight. love the art as well maybe add music and it will be perfect!
That's a very interesting take on the theme! I had quite a hard time figuring out a good strategy or if I just had to spam monsters randomly. I also think I softlocked on the third hero where I couldn't even hit them onceš
Very good effort on the visuals, The style really helps to give some personality to the game. Nice work!
Nice hand drawn little gameš
GAMEPLAY
This was a fun little attack wave game. The concept of choosing a monster to attack a hero is enjoyable. The upgrades are useful and varied, making it fun to purchase them. However, the hero becomes quite weak once you have stronger monsters. Achieving a good balance in game mechanics within 3 days is challenging, but maybe itās something to consider for a future update. It was also fun to unlock the unique designs of the monsters and to see how they would look.
VISUALS
The hand-drawn style gave the game a unique look. Initially, it was a bit unclear when a monster was alive or dead; they looked quite similar. Perhaps a change in color or tint could make this more obvious. But the style really give it a nice touch.
AUDIO
I missed a background track and sound effects. These would be a welcome addition and would certainly enhance the gameās atmosphere and ambiance.
THEME
The theme was incorporated into the game indeed..check
Overall a nice solid jam entry. Well done šŖ
niceee... Can you play, rate and comment on my game too? plssssssss
The concept of the game is really interesting, using monsters to defeat heroes
I really liked the variety of monsters you created, all with different designs
I spent quite a bit of time playing your game, this kind of gameplay with upgrades is truly addictive haha
However, thereās one aspect of your game that deserves some extra attention: the imbalance between our power and our opponentsā. Right from the start, after getting the green creature, itās almost guaranteed that weāll win all the next battles quickly due to its extremely high damage
This takes away some of the adrenaline because it would be more interesting if the heroes scaled with our strength throughout the game, not necessarily equal to us, but a bit more challenging
The graphics of the game reminded me of an older style, I personally enjoyed the aesthetic
Congratulations on the project, and I wish you the best of luck in the jam!
