As far as ethical dilemmas go, this one was excellent. Haha good entry Human!

Maybe Harold can buy X (Formerly Known as Twitter) and rebrand it as H for the better of humankind.

Overall: As the legendary Harold Jam host has put adulting first, so has Harold in a hard-hitting Ethical Dilemma.

Gameplay: I clicked Yes and then I clicked No.

Music: RTP.

Story: Unironically got a lot out of a single decision.

Graphics: RTP.

Comedy: Classic Human being hilariously brief as always. Welcome home big guy.

*Sigh*

...

Welcome back, Human.

A 3 for Comedy and a 2 for Story, but I cannot in good conscience give Gameplay, Music, and Story higher than a 1, sorry... still, had a laugh! Also theme 6 is loud as always which sucks lol.

This was uniquely tailoured to my particular sense of humour, so while I cannot in good faith give an entry like this an especially high score in other categories, this one had easily the funniest writing in the jam.

I'm faced with an ethical dilemma: do I give this game a 5 overall because it would be funny, or do I hold firm to my morals and ensure that my biases do not lead to an inflated jam score, hurting the voting experience for dozens of other participants and creating a cascading effect which leads to the fall of modern democracy and the deaths of hundreds of RPG Maker developers and players?

Really so glad you enjoyed it! I typically laugh at my own entries quite heartily so it is a relief that at least one other person had the same reaction.

I can help with your dilemma! The satisfaction I would gain from winning the jam with an entry like this is nearly limitless compared to others who dev for personal growth, friendship, blah blah blah, so a 5* rating is an ethical requirement

Save us, capitalist Harold!

Just to clarify and because everyone is wondering, Investment Banker Harold benefits (others) from the economic system in place without necessarily endorsing all of it as a whole. He's even considered the relative efficacy of spending his profits to promote economic reforms aimed to make his own pursuits unnecessary, though as of yet he considers most radical changes too utopian.

"Play ethical dilemma" had me laughing before the game even started, so well done there.

And now it's come full circle to "rate this ethical dilemma", hah.

The text crawl opening was difficult to read. Theme6 blew my ears out. Then Harold started pontificating about the ethics of making money and my eyes glazed over a bit.

Then David arrived and I was instantly sold. I understood the premise inherently and the block caps delivery of the story was really funny. Also DON'T LOOK AT THE MENU INVESTMENT BANKER triggered in me a deep and apparently latent fear that I think will haunt me until the day I die. Especially as you can literally disable menu access without a single plugin.

The fact that I was forced to rewatch the whole text scrawl after getting the "lame and extremely boring ending" was kind of a pain. Feels like that could have been handled better. I opened the menu and laughed at the gags, but the inability to save to avoid the hefty punishment for failure was a little frustrating.

And then it ended. The game is a single choice. It's a funny choice and it's a neat little concept, but I fail to see how it particularly hit the criteria for the jam given that you don't see the island?

Either way, I laughed. For what it was it did it well, and that's kind of the thing I'm trying to grade these more esoteric games on. The art is just stock, the music is just stock, and I don't think I can give gameplay more than a one without abjectly lying, but overall this entry kind of nailed it?

3/5. A shitpost, but not a shit post.

Thank you so much for the in depth look at this game. That long unreadable scroll was definitely on my list of things worth fixing but alas, I lack the dev talent to make any changes whatsoever to improve the player experience. I do sincerely hope the house on an island qualifies my entry, because even if one doesn't see it, isn't an island still an island? And you got both endings! Truly a completionist. Lastly, I don't do shitposts! I inspire others to smile and think through life's deepest issues with brief, low effort performance art.

Thanks for playing and I look forward to playing your entry!
