Amazing, gorgeous graphics, very smooth gameplay, and nice thematic music. So polished!

Wow, great work on this game! It felt super polished and the levels were designed well. The visuals looked great and the music was really good too. This game was a ton of fun to play through, nice job!

Sadly i am having serois performence issues, so i couldnt expierience the game myself, but it seems to be one of the best ones. The graphics and sounds are awsome!

Developer

Sorry to hear that, if the game is lagging for you, try on a clean browser such as Edge? Sometimes Google Chrome can lag out WebGL games (happens on my end as well). Hope you have a good time with it!

Developer

Can someone beat my time? ;)

Developer

50 sec is possible...

Great game, but there is one problem: the pixels of the weapon and the main character are different sizes, the pixels of the foreground and background are also different sizes.

It may be a trifle, but it is very noticeable.

Developer

Yes, that was a tradeoff we made in order to be able to create weapons with more detail. Either each weapon is about 2-4 pixels but at the same scale, or we make more detailed weapons but with altered scaling, so hope that explains the scaling difference. Thanks for playing our game!

Very nice Contra-like! It's even as unforgiving lol

Fantastic art, by the way :)

Incredible. Best submission I’ve played yet.

This game is really good especially the art style. I really enjoyed it!

The shooting was a bit weird I would say. The rest looks good!

The cuban revolution was awesome, and so was this game. The art was really good especially for just a 7 day jam. The gunplay was difficult, but it fit well with the level design. very good game.

This is very polished, excellent work.

i liked the art style music and drawing,  the gameplay is beautiful i enjoyed it

the controls are not so nice "H" is not a good choice for shooting

when the player moves to the right and there is still enemies in the left shooting at you without being able to see them is a bad idea.

I like that one-shot kills you and keeps the player attention at full focus

good work

Developer(+1)

Yeah, "H" wasn't the greatest choice, but if you want you can use "I" as well to shoot. We put that in the description for the game rather than displaying both options in-game to avoid confusing players. Glad to hear you had a good time with our game, thanks for playing!

I liked the AI and the sounds ! Can you try my game, I have just one rating?

Developer(+1)

Sure, I'll give your game a shot!

I really liked this one! The graphics are nice, the sounds and music are well done, and the gameplay is pretty fun.
Only things i tought that might be improved are that when you restart the game, it should restart the level or go to the menu instead of going back to the intro, and that there could be a way of restarting the level and skipping the intro without having to use the mouse, since the game is keyboard focused.
I also tought that maybe there could be a dodge mechanic or something, but after i got used to the level i beat it easily, so i guess the game is actually well balanced!
Congrats! This is one of the games i liked the most in this Jam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I really enjoyed yours too!

My favorite game so far. Very polished for a short game jam. Artwork is really really good!

Submitted

Really smooth to play and also an original approach to the theme.

I love the art style and the animations

The music and SFX are so good - the use of drums for the menu interaction was great.

Gameplay wise it felt like Metal Slug x Hotline Miami, with the one shot kill type thing. Really smooth, tight gameplay. If I were Marty McFlied to the 80s, and this was in an arcade, I'd absolutely just assume it was a real game from the time graphically.

Awesome job!

I absolutely loved this! It gave me some real Metal Slug vibes that made me very happy!! I hit a slight bug on the second level where I fell down a hole and didn't die but thankfully the levels aren't too long so it didn't matter

Developer(+2)

It was really cool watching you play through the game and I loved seeing your reaction! Thanks for playing and I'm glad you liked it :)

Amazing art, super polished. Really liked the life system and the way you respawned - super slick. It would have been nice to be able to shoot with left click as an option though as using h/i felt a bit clunky and meant I had to position my right hand in such a way that I couldn't play for long. But overall great job!

Nice game!! <3

The only thing that I could say is that the controls were a little weird but once you get used to it no problemo!
