Really nice game and super well presented! Loved the cutscenes and the music and the art. I think it would be could to have the option to skip through text instead of having to wait for it all to come on screen as it slowed the game down for fast readers like me 😅 Also I accidentally glitched through the Berlin Wall near the tanks on the far left of the map, though it was ok once I realised I was supposed to cross through it at a different place anyway. Overall super fun and unique game - good job!

Super fun little exploring game! since this was so well done I'm going to be a bit picky :)
Loved the main menu loved the music, one thing that would greatly improve things would be a volume slider or even a mute button. I know this game is based on music, however, having a sound slider would have been a bit nice. not necessary but nice.
I wish there were more ambient sounds. If you decide to go back or clean up the project more, adding ambient sounds like wind blowing or just outside noises, id look at some RPGs to get an idea or just step outside. You could do crickets with cars or stuff. It would have been super nice to have that between your music tracks to keep the atmosphere of the game.
Adding Separation between the start room. It's a bit weird that you can just walk out onto the path and into the hall on your way out. I think adding something like the berlin wall 'as room separation' between points like this would be nice.
adding things like dialogue blips or muble talking would be nice. general ambiance
Credit screens:
Something super basic but that could go a long way 'dependent on the willingness of artist too' but if you had painted images representing each ending type, that would be sooo cool. so here are some ideas.
There was 'not sure if this was a glitch' but you could bypass the guards if you went to the topmost left corner and worked your way right to the escape. not sure if this route was intended but having an ending screen representing these things would be cool.
Guard getting shot if you take the gun 'comic style watercolor painting of you shooting the guard and escaping through the wall' at the credit screen
Guard gave the smokes 'comic style watercolor painting of you handing the letter to the guards friend after you escape out in the country somewhere' at the credit screen
and if avoiding the guard all together was possible, maybe just a muddied up version of you escaping somehow or running from the guard dogs at the credit screen
then maybe some type of melody to represent each style of ending. maybe it goes neutral ending, happy ending, sad ending or something like that.
Great game overall and enjoyed it!
This was really nice! I really liked the art, and the intro actually impressed me, finding a way out was actually entertaining.
The only critiques i could make are that maybe the contrast between the background and the characters could be bigger, since sometimes, especially in the mother's house, the colors seem to mix a little to much with the player, and also it seems that there are some problems with collisions, i was actualy able to go on top of the parked tanks and was ejected to the other side of the wall, wich technically would count as a victory :) But i was stuck in the outside of the map for a while until i found an open way in the bottom left of the map, and was able to resume my progress with the game.
But overall, this was really well done, it gave a slight feeling of "movie-like" in the beggining, and i feel that a full "escape the USSR" adventure game could be really cool, Congrats!
Thank you Davide! Im really happy that you liked it!
We have indeed received few comments on collision error that we have to definitely polish :(
I will also take a good note about the character/background contrast!
Thank you again! "Movie-like" feels like an amazing complement. We feel so flattered! :D
The game is really pretty, both graphically and musically. The only thing that was a little bit of a problem for me was the loud footsteps and the imperfect collision on some objects. overall, very good game!
The game was enticing and fun but what stood out to me the most was the graphics and music. I loved the scene at the beginning, and the story was very interesting.
I like it a lot the art and the gameplay
there are a few bugs but nothing important or you can't handle them due to the time.
my only complaint is the name of the game "Melody " while the music isn't doesn't have that importance in the game, I hoped to hear a beautiful melody while playing but there was only a low tense music
Great game looking forward to seeing the whole project
Really well done! Love the whole ambience, nice narrative. The intro was excellent. One small point of criticism I would give would be that the background noise in-game was very repetitive, and the footsteps were very punchy on my ears. But that's a pretty small thing, great work!
Wow! i am thoroughly impressed by the historical and thematic approach in this game. You really managed to capture the grimness of the time. The visuals was very unique, and I got so immersed in the setting that I almost forgot the food I was cooking in the oven lol
5/5 stars, such a beautiful game!
That was really fun! Opening credits are gorgeous, narrative concept is great, good well-rounded characters (which is hard when the game is short). I was so happy to prove Markus wrong when I escaped. Also, surprisingly big and decently long game for the short time provided by the game jam. Really impressive job!
Good game! I really liked the dialogues and the art <3 <3
It's very rare to have a good narrative-heavy game in a game jam, but you guys pulled it off. With more expansion this could be a full-fledged visual novel - I was really invested in the setting and the characters.
There are some buggy colliders and there were times where I lost my way but for a game jam it's still quite polished in its presentation :)
