Nice and simple tower defense. The graphics looked good and were consistent. Having to plan for each wave being different is a good use of the theme.

Playing it was really enjoyable! Wave strength indicators are great concept :)
I loved the game,
The main thing i would have added was a tooltip pop up over the towers, showing how much it would have cost, what it does etc. and i wouldn't say no to being able to build some maze type situations.
We'll ignore performance since its a game jam ;).
I'd continue playing this.
Awesome job,
An interesting game I must say. The predictors are quite a unique feature which adds something new to this 2d game. The gun designs are very nice and well done, although i feel as though the art for the zombies could be improved upon (maybe make different kinds?) and the blood that's left behind gives you a sense of accomplishment.
The first few times playing it i struggled to kill over 2,000 zombies, but I soon found a strategy (spread out all you guns - avoid clustering or rows!) Chrome definitely handles this game a lot better than Firefox. After implementing my strategy I was able to kill over 6,000 zombies, but after this the game started lagging hard. At times I was down to a frame per couple of seconds, and it took a minute or more to reset the levels or predict the next wave. It also continuously told me the page was unresponsive, but I kept waiting until it responded.
An
It took me quite some time, but eventually I was able to reach the grand score of 41,307 kills! Beyond this point I decided that it was no longer worth playing because my defenses were too powerful for the zombies. If this game had less lag, more features and better design, it would be much more enjoyable.
GODDAMN, 41k zombies is crazy. i was thinking that a scenario where the defense is too strong could occur but didn't think i would see it, based on the budget earned through that wave it looks like there were 8000 zombies in that final wave! crazy stuff, thanks for taking the time to push the game to its limits!
I like the concept of the empty grid in this tower defense game and how it visualizes how many enemies will come in each row. The remaining blood also gives me a sense of how successful I was, which is really inspiring. However, it might be an issue on my end, but I haven't been very successful, typically surviving only 3-4 waves so far. I'm missing the ability to rearrange units after a wave or to earn a bigger income to build new units.
Overall, a very fun game that makes you want to try again and improve. Great job!
By the way, there's a small lag with the particles during the initial loading. It can be fixed by preloading the particles before the game starts (or in the background of the loading screen). Also, it's great that you used Godot for this!
you should be able to right click the defenses to remove them for a full refund during waves and between waves. a small income should also be earned during each wave at about 1 credit per 2 zombies. i should've spent more time optimizing the performance of the game so that it is more playable as it takes away a lot from the experience., anyways thanks for playing and commenting!
I got to this point before the game was slowed to an absolute crawl, otherwise I'd definitely have kept going! (I'm using Firefox, if another browser might work better let me know!)
I feel like a large part of the game should be building barriers to create a maze with killboxes and things, which would be really fun. Unfortunately the first tier of wall (or sandbags?) seem to do nothing to impede the hordes, and I found that the higher tier walls are effective but cost too much to justify. Massing turrets along the back wall was the only way I found to survive the first wave, and the increase in budget after each wave all went to even more turrets as a result.
Really neat, though! If I could get the game to run better I'd love to see if I could try strategies using barriers.
wow thanks for playing and i totally agree about using barriers to change the zombie horde flow would be cool. the sandbags probably could slow the zombies more aswell .. the progression after each wave in budget isnt balanced whatsoever as are the defenses, like u mentioned the barriers not being justifiable. game stuttered alot on my firefox aswell but seemed to run much better on chrome.
Zombies!
I'm impressed with the full functionality of the tower defense style. It was a little hard to pickup how to kill the waves but then we can keep going.
Perhaps what was missing was knowing how much each thing you can build costs, otherwise good job!
