  • This is really well executed, it feels great to move around once you get some speed up - I think the default speed should be quite a lot faster, but otherwise the momentum feels pretty good. I didn't actually know I could shoot, that could do with a little bit of tutorialization, but that's a minor nitpick for the jam :) shooting does trivialise the game, though, even if it does cost mass. If you want to take this further, the next thing you should focus on is JUICE! Animations for every state, more particles and other vfx, that sort of thing. There's a nice push & pull with the scoring, if you get too greedy you'll be punished, but if you play it too safe the game is pretty boring. I'd like to see more to incentivise playing greedy, maybe something like a "near miss" bonus would be nice!

How does your game relate to the theme?
You play as Plasmo, a plasmic orb that is shot into space who is trying to travel as far as he can in one single shot. Colliding with energy orbs or pulses of the same color offer bonuses and score multipliers, while colliding with differing colors cause reduction in multipliers and/or a loss. The leaderboard ranking is based off of distance traveled times the multipliers that you gain throughout the duration.

Fun! It goes well with mobile! It's worth investing in to launch it on the playstore! It's a game I would play in the doctor's waiting room!

Works like a charm. Reminds me of stuff like agar.io only with your own twist and universe. Gameplay is pretty adictive, well done !

Developer

I loved agario games!
Someone suggested zooming out based on size, may be an interesting take - but I definitely want to have more activatable abilities to make it more obstacle based.

Fun and simple. A perfect arcade. (Felt like the theme was a bit of a stretch though)

Developer(+1)

For sure. With only this being what's playable, being "one-shot" doesn't really have any cadence in the gameplay.

We were supposed to be the "one-shot" being shot at an alien entity at the end of the galaxy and there was to be a sort of cinematic to explain it - but the ever ending problem of scope caused us to veer off.

I like the music.

Suggestion:  Tutorial can be added. Moving obstacles can be added.

Someone got over 1 million score Whaat :D

Good job.

I never knew a plasma orb can be cute and fluffy.
Love how the gameplay is get greedy for points -> get reset -> hopefully don't die -> get greedy again.
Really fun game.

Hah - that's definitely an appropriate summary :D

Now that you mention, plasma probably shouldn't be goopy and fluffy lol

Thanks for playing!

Idk if its just me but I couldn't shake off that its NOT a slime but a plasmic orb 😂I think this is one of the 2 games that has sort of a color based gameplay so that adds to its already unique style/gameplay. I would suggest to add more juice but otherwise the game loop is as simple, nice, addictive ^^ well done! 👏

Thanks for the feedback!

We kind of passed around some ideas of having it more involved so that it felt more like ramping up, so hearing you double down on it kind of makes us want to revisit it.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Great work ! I was thinking about an animation where the player eat everything he encounter lol . GG

Developer

Thanks! We're glad that you enjoyed it!

There's something satisfying about eating/absorbing other units, haha.
