Ranked from 16 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game relate to the theme?
You have to one shot all difficulty levels one by one, if you can't, you get a huge point deduction and you start from beginning. There is a Leaderboard appearing after player wins all levels, it appears if he doesn't too.

interesting idea, but the execution could use some work.

It wasn’t clear what was going on or that I was losing power as I broke boards.

Maybe you should let the player keep going as long as they have power. Make the power meter exponential so that bad timing has a much higher risk and the player has a much wider range of values that they can land on. This will lead to more varied playthroughs in the number of boards you could break.

This is quite cool, the limited amount of points you can get makes it a bit less replayable but you still can try for a while to perfect your score.

WOW

I tried to play before, but wasn't working. Now that I  understand that I need to press, I liked the originality of the game!

Tip: On the bar of the points, put a limit that if you pass the limit, you loose. with that, Iff you add more levels, the game can be infinite always adding different points and these stuff. The bugs that I see, this one below already told

Good Luck with him!

Controls are somewhat confusing as when you left click to skip leaderboard and go back to the game you'll instantly lose ; but otherwise it's fun !
It's missing a bit of juiciness in our quest for the right timing, maybe a sound effect or two would be needed.
Found myself returning to the game a few times to try and get a better score though so in this way it's very entertaining ! :)

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback, indeed those are neccessary, and sorry about the bug.

Short and fun game,
If your planning to update the game, please add an 'hi- yah' sound (like in karate) each time the player strikes the board.
That'd be hilarious,

Developer

Haha thanks for the feedback, I really was planning to add that but couldn't, yeah that would be so funny :D

I like the idea of timing your strike perfectly to get the most amount of points.

I'd recommend focusing on making striking the wood feel satisfying and juicy, especially when you do it very close to the threshold. Then once you have that feeling good, think about how to expand the mechanic to make it a bit more interesting/engaging - maybe something like having many planks come in quick succession.

Congrats on your submission :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and good advices :)

the game is kinda empty. it's just hitting some wood. and it's not clear if it is even possible to get in the leaderboard.  but at least good vibes

Developer

Thanks for the comment, I am glad you get good vibes.

The mechanic looks there, but unfortunately as a game it feels a bit unfinished. If you really want to jazz something like this up, my advice would be to increase the pace by a lot, have boards just moving in constantly, and have the meter rapidly moving up and down and you have to keep hitting it just right at random levels throughout. Difficulty ramp could pace upwards by making the pace of the game move faster and faster.  Congrats on getting something in!

Developer

Yes, it is unfinished unfortunatelly.  Noted the good advices. Thanks for the feedback :)

It's a very good  idea. I think the balance needs a bit tweaking and highscore system that has an upward limit is not something i prefer. But i'd really like to urge you to work on it a bit more. I'm pretty sure it has decent charges to become a great hypercasual game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback :)

Honestly, an interesting concept, lots of potential to juice it up & make the player feel like a karate chop expert! scoring can also have 'perfect hit' multipliers, combos and such! Congratulations on submitting a game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, yes juicing it up would be nice, but I don't know why I couldn't spend much time for this project unfortunatelly.

That's okay, it happens to the best of us in game jams!

Apparently if I move my mouse I lose instantly? Kinda got it to work - but difficult to determine what's actually earning my points.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.

Score Calculation:

You have 61400 power (points) at start,

as you go through levels you spend power and it keeps decreasing,

If you complete with perfect timing you gain the max score which is 50000.

If you fail on halfway, 5.000 points will be deducted per levels left uncleared.

Sorry for the unclearity.
