How does your game relate to the theme?
Each level a a random boss is spawned which you have to defeat. When it's health is low you'll have 30secs to defeat it. If you don't a invincible enemy will be spawned and chase you forever. Please click the submit button to submit your score before playing again. To defeat the boss with circling shields rotating around it you have to try to get bullets past its shield(best with a shotgun).

I think theres a glitch where the invincible enemy spawns before it should, but I was able to avoid this happening by staying away from directly south of spawn point.
I thought the dude with things spinning was invincible at first but you've just gotta get him stuck behind a tree and its smooth sailing :)
I came third, good enough!
Great submission for 2 weeks, would love to see what you coulda done in a month with it.
I was confused about how much ammo i have left , i think an indicator will be good . GG !
This is an interesting concept but I was not able to make it very far because I kept getting killed by the invincible enemy, at least I assume that's what the laser ball is. It would show up even before I encountered any bosses. I did get to see the real bosses once though and they did look pretty cool.
Nice game, I liked the enemies attacking from every direction but not in a stupid way that gives you no chance to fight.
The map could have benefited from some depth and obvious edges, I would have liked the E,Q buttons to circle through the weapons instead of hitting the end of the weapon list then clicking the other button to go back.
The sniper is useless, it doesn't do any obvious extra damage or go through enemies and has a very low rate of fire.
The shotgun and the "piercing" rocket launcher are the best, they provide good damage and affect many enemies.
I made some gaps in the enemy spawning as to let the player have a way out, glad to see that it works.
Having E,Q circle through the weapons would've been much better.
The sniper is pretty bad in the initial levels. having a stats sheet would've helped.
I'm glad you like d the game and thanks for playing.
Overall very well put together game but as others have said it’s missing just a few details to feel solid.
A few more notes:
-
For these type of games it’s always a good idea to give the player some sort of aiming indicator like a laser sight. Without that the player has to look for the mouse cursor to determine where they’re aiming which becomes more of a challenge as they have to keep track of an increasing number of enemies on screen as the difficulty ramps up.
-
Differentiate the weapons more by changing the color and shape of their bullets. Each weapon did different amounts of damage but this wasn’t easy to visualize and wasn’t clear at the start of the game. If stronger weapons had larger bullets or something to indicate power, it would’ve been a lot more intuitive. You could also make the aiming indicator of each weapon different to better communicate how they work.
-
Add something to the environment to keep the player focused on where to go. In a large open arena, the player just moves randomly in any direction until they hit the end. In Vampire survivors, the map has collectibles that are really far away which gives the player a target to move towards. Collecting each pickup takes a lot of time due to the distance but it gives a sense of direction in a large flat 2d world. I just ran around dodging enemies until I hit the edge of the world and then changed direction.
-
Give bosses health bars. The first boss was confusing because I couldn’t remove it’s shield completely. I thought my goal was to kill the shield so that my bullets could reach him but the shield seemed to keep regenerating. It felt like I had to just hope my bullets got past the spinning shield which felt kind of glitchy or like I was supposed to cheat his shield mechanics. The lack of a health bar also made it difficult to tell if I was doing the boss fight properly since I had no feedback for my attacks against it.
The aim of the game was the player had to survive until the boss spawns -> defeat the boss -> go to the next level -> repeat.
But like you said, I missed on a lot of small crucial details that ended up with players getting confused.
Thanks a lot for playing the game and giving a very detailed feedback.
I will definitely use your feedback to make better games in the future.
Good music and simple but clean art style. I wonder a bit about what the sniper is good for, there was also a enemy with bars circling it that seemed impossible to damage, tried with all weapons.
Good work, I really like the music and sound effects.
The idea is very good and fun, as well as fitting well with the theme, but I really missed a shot reload indicator.
This is a fun little game!
I really likes the aesthetic of the level format and the music.
I think it may be useful to add either a visual or a sound effect when the gun is reloaded and able to be shot again. I had a few panic moments when I was like "C'MONNN RELOADDD" and I was spam clicking lol.
Great work!
What I liked:
- I liked how there were different biomes for each level
- I liked the mysterious vibe - it made me wonder who I was, who the enemies were, and why I was there - the music in the first level really complemented that
- I liked the different types of guns I could use
Feedback:
- Some guns seemed much stronger than others - maybe it would make more sense to start with the weakest one and unlock the others as your progress
- It would be nice to know what the fire rate on each gun was - the sniper took so long to reload I thought it might be bugged!
- I wish I knew what the hp on bosses was as I was killing them
- The enemies having some sort of death animation would have helped making killing them more satisfying - even something simple like a fade to transparent would go a long way
Congrats on your submission!
Was able to get to the third boss and got absolutely smoked by the bullets he was shooting at me lol. Had pretty fun going around shooting things. The pistol/shotgun blast gun (second weapon) seemed super powerful and I used that a lot, but towards the end I liked the third gun because I got a piercing damage upgrade for it.
End score I got to 12750. One piece of feedback I’d have is it would be nice if the high score automatically uploaded, rather than needing to press the submit button. I nearly missed it, but noticed when my score wasnt showing on the leaderboard.
Nice work!
Congratulations on getting something completed, that's always a victory in jams. The guns worked pretty well and the game was pretty straightforward. I would like to see more variety with the terrain, maybe staying on paths allows you to move faster, and you can hide behind things? More juice is always welcome too.
Nice snappy guns! I wasn't able to get past the circling enemies with the red bullets (is that the boss?) Good work with the character art too, honestly the purple look of the game works well as opposed to a typical dungeon ish vibe! I feel like a bit more juice would go a long way with the game. Congrats on the submission!
Nice and engaging game with awesome music! I found one little bug, when player moves to the edge of the map the enemies start pilling along the other side of the edge not able to hit kill me. Otherwise its a good game that I can play for long!!

I've faced weaker enemies in Elden Ring than this Boss of yours, very appealing hahaha, I had fun playing your game, I think if you invest in improving it after the jam it will be really cool to play in the future. If you could leave feedback on my shipment I would be very happy.
Nice boss!!!hope you get to improve on the graphics after the end of jam.
