Description
This is a mixture of a series of ideas and inspirations, my idea of this city would be an old and advanced population with strong earthly connections, I draw this mainly from FF7, so a theme similar to Aerith or Forgotten City. so a lot of elements tend to be more electronic than regular instruments, DKC1 and 2 evidently inspire the top line, some jungle and temple levels inspired my mind theatre about this specific abandoned city.

A big aspect of the production is thinking also about the platform and it's connection to the sound design, I've used essentially vintage synths (Dx7, M1 and CS-80) and the mix tries to replicate some of the ps1 flavour, with a bit of CD compression and tape saturation. It can be dirty on phone speakers though, but on my setup it was clean enough.

(The project picture is an old blender render of mine and not related to the overall idea of my city)

Interesting sound design, it just trigger my nostalgic feel. but anyway the atmosphere is really convey the old but advance civilization, well done!

Nice atmosphere and composition.

Mix wise I'd look at compression and EQing things, as well as placing things in more positions in space, both near and far, and L/R. Near far is accomplished with wetness and delay - closer things have more delay because they're close, so you hear it and then the echo follows a little later. A lot of mixing is about creating an illusion of space to make things sound clean/clear.

Nice work though! :)

Cool textures, nice chords too, sounds pretty nice in the mix, I would've like some dynamics change to make us go somewhere else, doesn't have to be huge change just to let us breathe a bit. Well done :)

I really liked the different sounds used here. I can hear some of the PS1 and DKC inspirations. I’ve always really liked the soundtracks for those games and I think it’d fit in pretty well, especially the flute and piano parts. The flute sound in particular sounds kind of familiar, but I’m not really sure where I’ve heard it before. Really good track!

Thank you very much! This flute is an iconic Korg M1 sound! I think Koji Kondo used a lot in some of his works, I think David Wise used in Banjo as well

Glad to see I wasn't the only one using a big warm pad drone in the background!  Love this sound.  Definitely feels synthwave/vaporwave adjacent to me, like you're channeling 80's sci fi action movie goodness.  The expressiveness in the flute is pretty impressive.   Very good mix, it's soft and fuzzy and warm.

The pad has that classic, nostalgic texture, and the pianos are great too. Awesome job!
