--- MUSIC INFO ---

My goal for this jam was to create a mix of mood, atmosphere, texture, and soundscape. Personally, I wanted to focus on improvisation, beatboxing and using FM and Additive synthesis methods to create sound. I sincerely hope this music is able to transport you, even briefly, to somewhere far beyond our solar system.

--- STORY BEHIND THE MUSIC ---

In 3251AD, after several civilizational collapses, the remnants of humanity managed to gather enough resources to launch the first interstellar colonial mission to the Earthlike planet Wolf 1061C, located 14.1 light years away in the Ophiuchus Constellation. Within hours of successfully arriving, the interstellar settlers discovered intricate stone structures manufactured with techniques only available to intelligent life. Finally, the anthropocentric dogma humanity foolishly clinged to for millenia was dead, once and for all.

Love the atmosphere you created here. It gives me a dystopian space game kind of feel. The tracks blended together very nicely. Good job!

Very nice atmosphere here.

I especially like the bass in the last track. The textures really come together well too and create a really nice sense of atmosphere.

Constructive feedback:

I feel like earlier on, some of the track was getting just a bit murky in the mix.

Overall though this is really good. Great work VP!

Very well mixed, nailed the atmosphere and the vibe you described. very creative ideas, its ambiant enough that I some point I also forgot I was listening, its a good thing because we are really immersed inside the world. good job.

I like the way you've used synths to build your submission, it's reminding me of the layers of synthesis in the Stray PS5 game that came out recently. Each track really beautifully builds on the theme and the distorted beat boxing adds a really interesting texture!

Man, the rhythmic choices with that thumping bass on the third track were awesome!  Good stuff overall!  Definitely feeling the space vibes.

Cool stuff, we have space now, every track just nail the atmoshpere, I can imagine a space colonization game with this.

Nailed the atmosphere and your sound design was superb!

Yay! Space! Hurray!

Approaching Wolf 1061C - And from the very beginning we hear a mesmerizing wonder! Sounds of space, mechanisms for long-distance flights, ship's hardware, moods and sounds as if coming from under the deep crust of an unknown planet... And in the background of all this bitcrash! Hurray!

The Air Feels Like Wool - Small, a bit mysterious, general atmosphere as if I saw something I shouldn't have seen (Alien cacti? A fish bone?).

Discovering We Are Not The First Ones - WOW... First of all: there is some machinarium vibe from this track, but only here the bass is stronger.... I like the rhythmic nature of the track! Flutes, pads, “voices” of alien angels, sounds of ruined equipment and of course BASS. Increasing dynamics towards the middle of the track - cool! Fading sound as if saying goodbye to me...

All in all - pretty cool publication! It has an interesting spacey but abandoned atmosphere, beautiful effects and sounds... BASS

I liked it!

Loved your take on the theme, and really loved the last track man it will be hard to be short in listing all the feeling and how atmospheric it got, kudos.
The whole piece is really good, the "Air feels like wool" didn't settle that well on my first listen, but now i understand it, also your aproach to it was a risk one and i love that.

Take care! :3

I love the space take on the theme—this is probably my favorite of the space direction! It really captures the idea of space exploration and how I’d imagine finding lost ruins in space would sound. I would say you nailed it instrumentally as well!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely love it. You nailed the atmosphere and everything fits perfectly into the sonic theme that you have built. Huge bonus points for the Roland SH-101 as well!

Really love these. Such a unique take on the theme. Gives an eerie feeling of exploring a completely alien ruin on another planet where you won't know what to expect around the corner. The bitcrushed sounds also give me the feeling that you're piloting an old spaceship, like it's just barely holding on.

I can't really think of any huge criticisms but I guess one detail you could've tried was to tie all of these tracks together with some sort of recognizable theme, like a small melody that would come in briefly or a distinct instrument maybe?

Anyway, amazing tracks!

Lovely from the first note :D
A really nice buildup of the track, wish it would enter a little break-beat-ish resolution instead of fading out.
Nice suspense with wool.
Mmmm guitar entrance on the third one is chef kiss.

Beautiful. Great job!
