Excellent game. So fun, great graphics, excellent sounds: solid game.

It wasn't the most exciting game after you built the puppet... just watching them hit each other, but I still had a great time.

Nice work. Good luck with the jam!

Very well put together game! Art was very cool and unique, the audio was great, and it was a tough game to beat! The first time playing it I thought it was super easy because I got to level 5 but then I kept dying over and over so the first time must have just been pure luck lol!

Really cool game! Amazing art and sound, also really cool autobattler. Well done!

Thank you!!!!!

You made such a cool game in such a short time. The graphics look great, I could imagine how amazing it would be if you went full out, something I'd Wishlist now already and look forward to the STEAM release. Keep going matee!

That truly is the highest praise!

Maybe one day I'll come back to it and make it into a full steam game.

I remember playing this when it was first published a few days ago, at first I didn't look much into the gameplay but now after trying it again, this is actually pretty fun! I love how you need to rely on luck and basic logic to create a doll that has an opposing element and even/ higher power than the enemy bot. The hints and jokes between slides are lottsa fun as well, I might steal some of the jokes! I'm also a big fan of the simplistic art style— nothing too creepy or too serious. Only thing I didn't like was needing to restart all the levels after losing, but despite that I was still able to get to the end!

Thank you for your kind feedback. Your comments on my art make me especially happy as it's the first time I've ever drawn art for a game.

"Only thing I didn't like was needing to restart all the levels after losing".

Fair enough, that's a common feature in roguelikes, but yeah I get ya.

The art and audio are very good! The gameplay has a lot of depth to it even though it's very simple. Though it is very reliant on luck and randomness of the part types. I did have fun playing the game. The cursor sprite being the hand of the witch was a cheeky way of implementing necromancy. I was not able to beat the game (due to randomness) and when I got fire level and then another fire level or a water level then after water level made it impossible to finish the game. So I would say to not let I have a fire level and then another fire.

overall, Good work.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

"So I would say to not let I have a fire level and then another fire."

Yeah, that would be something I hope to fix in the future but unfortunately, there's only so much to do in a game jam. It's the first time I have ever drawn all of the art for a game so that took most of my time.

I understand it was the first time that I drew the sprites and I wasn't able to add juice to the game

The art and audio are great! Pretty simple gameplay but it works well and everything is quite polished. I don't really like the randomness of the body parts that it gives you. I also felt that being able to see the power levels made it a little too easy to see the end result before you even start the fight. I had fun playing it, good job!

Developer

"I don't really like the randomness of the body parts that it gives you"

I get it, however if you were given the same body parts each time there would be no challenge.

" I also felt that being able to see the power levels made it a little too easy"

That's funny. I had other people complaining they had no way to know how strong the enemy was.

Glad you had fun!

Did have fun playing the game. I like how simple it was to know what was going on. Did have some mini rage moments when learning what "elements" worked better vs others. Enjoyed the dad jokes and music.

It did feel like a loss was always going to happen despite what parts you did sometimes saved.

Developer

"It did feel like a loss was always going to happen despite what parts you did sometimes saved."

Hmm, what made it feel like that?

The game is pretty much always beatable. Apart from maybe 1 in 10 runs when you get really unlucky parts.

Submitted

It might have been a string of unlucky parts and going into a direct counter (RNG is still RNG). BUT... I don't think that's bad. Sometimes RNG does not go in your favor.

I actually could see having "1 reroll" of your parts in the play through but that's just a minor nitpick. Keep in mind... I did have a lot of fun playing. Played it longer than others :)

Developer

Ooh that's a good idea. Might implement it when I come back to this project someday.

Hey, great game!

  • LOVE the art style
  • The hand following the pointer around was really cool
  • Appreciate the dad jokes on loading screen haha
  • The scribble and transations to scenes are really creative
  • The game flows really nicely, you made it really clear what the player has to do
  • Love the Pokemon style types hehe
  • Music and sounds suit the game really well

I wasn't able to figure out how to beat all levels, the hint said to save parts for later, so maybe a cool update could be to be able to 'bank' body parts or something - nice job overall :)

Developer (1 edit)

"so maybe a cool update could be to be able to 'bank' body parts or something"

That's currently how it works. You already save parts between levels that you don't use.

I dont know if it was supposed to be like this but when you triple click while sowing your doll becomes gigantic and one shots the opponent.

Developer

Ah! There will always be a bug that slips through. I have patched that now. Thank you.

Really Great Job, A really solid submission:
-Great Music and decent SFX
-Fun to play
-The art style is also very decent, good job.
-Great and smooth Transitions between scenes
-I also really liked The cursor, great job on this one
-The only thing i didn't like is the randomness of the body parts given and restarting the whole game when losing but this is just personal opinion.

Overall, Thanks for this smooth experience and great job, keep it up!
