Love the art style here and the whole presentation. Having never played a card based game before I have no reference but was able to pick it up quickly and really enjoyed it. Really nice.

A neat reading of the theme. Cool art-style. Was fun playing.

Very, very nice. So polished. Very well executed. Loved the tutorial, which it definitely needed due to the initial complexity - but the learning curve was quick enough that it was super fun to play straight away.  Great UI, great graphics, perfectly executed idea. I think that after a while it did become a little repetitive (even though it was still fun) so personally I would have liked there to be.. "something" else, I'm not even sure what.. I just felt like it would be nice to have some more decisions to make or some more little things to do - maybe that's just me. Fantastic work, really!

Thanks for playing! I agree with all your feedback. In a scenario where I would keep building this, I would probably start with a number of monsters who just die (but that obviously doesn't fit the theme ;-) ). Then some who need to be banished, then some other new mechanic (for either you or the monster, maybe more die faces or special abilities) to keep variety.

Great game - complex mechanics presented in a way that is easy to understand and play - great work. Very polished & felt great to finish. :)

Thanks for playing John, I had a good time rooting for you on the other side of the stream xD Much thanks for organizing!

Great game like the Art work! But missed the sound settings cause it was loud :) It had a balancing problem cause it got easier as further you got.

Developer (1 edit)

I'm sorry about your ears :-) I did notice it on Wootsdev's stream.

Lesson learned from this: future games will include a volume slider. <3

Thanks for playing

I know this feeling to nail down the sound is hard. I made the game on 20% volume by default :D just for this reason and have slider.

I for one, a quebecois pure laine, am insulted that you think poutines have noodles.

Amazing little game. Loved the art!

Developer

haha, thank you for the kind words and for playing for so long <3

I got defeated by the great poo on the first round because i did not understand the banish mechanic (perhaps i should read the itch.io description before playing games)

That being said, when i got the hang of it, i enjoyed the RNG aspect of it!
I kept going to see all that content you have in there... different images, sounds, texts for intro/death..
Good job, that's ton of content!

On a sidenote...
I will have you know that Timmie's parking lots are usually not habitable, esp. during the winter.
That being said, we welcome everyone in the sewers! Cozy and warm in here

Thanks for playing! <3

This game was so much fun! I really enjoyed it! Defeating the level 10 monster was especially amazing!

Developer

Thanks for playing on stream! ^_^

Fun game. Wasn’t sure how to get the dice to appear to banish the monsters. Great concept and very good game. Nice job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for playing. I was a little worried that the banish mechanic was going to a little difficult to communicate.

In short, the combination shown in the monster window is the spell combination (they start unknown).

- Each turn when you deal damage it has a 20% chance per damage point of revealing a component slot.
- When you down a monster to 0 HP, it reveals a extra number of component slots (except for the Phoenix).

In order to cast a banish you must set the banish combination in the dice box and attempt to banish.

Once again, thanks for playing!

Absolutely brilliant concept and execution. Often I just myself spamming 'End Turn & Attack' but suddenly found myself in situations like "wait what do I actually do here, how do I turn the tide" and it was great. Artwork is gorgeous, sound is fantastic, A+ game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I kind of rushed the balance in the end. I think it can be better, you are right about that. I think the monsters can be scarier, so that you have to really think about protecting while also attacking.

I'm not exactly sure what sliders you would tweak to give a good push and pull of difficulty and power but it was really fun to play so great job!
