Cool fun arcade game, nice and simple but very engaging. Great artistic style and well put together.
Thank you for giving it a try! =)
I will admit to being confused as to how to proceed in this game which is a shame as I really wanted to but from what I did play I can it looks great and is well put together. If there is an update coming I would definitely give it another go.
Sadly we failed with game rules discussion so I just had to add something in the las hours I were able to work on it. The idea is that the island is composed of a grid with rules for mushrooms to grow. The “junk” (or “flowers”) is food - mushrooms grow faster there. We wanted to make a game about a spore-virus however the initial build was boring so I just tuned it up a bit with “mutations” (faster mushroom grow) and added some humor from the post-soviet 90-ties era and added a boat to escape the island before it is fully occupied. I guess if I make it less fast-paced with a larger terrain, a dynamically shaped collider for the mushroom grid and a random extraction point - that may ineed be a nice game. Thank you for playing anyway! =D
I am mushroom!
Join the club =D
I became a mushroom, did I win? :)
Well done, fluid gameplay.
Both options are win conditions. Your choice - whether to fight it or not. Thanks!
Good fun! ..I don't know why mushrooms are radios.. I worry about that. But! fun idea, nicely executed, has some potential :D Good work!
Well, mushrooms are radios because of Perestroika in the USSR like 32 years ago. It was a joke on the official TV and many people believed it since at those time there was only one trusted official TV. So the moral story is.. Do not trust everything you see, especially the mushrooms.
Fun game! I was a little confused as to why I was dying at times and the attack seemed almost unnescessary - loved stomping over everything :D Nice idea.
Thanks for the jam. =D Becoming a mushroom is not really dying. Like.. Well, you know, many people in history were actually mushrooms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenin_was_a_mushroom
TBH Had to invent the game goal at the last moment so.. Balanced all I could out of it.
I thought i'd fight the mushrooms with sound gun, that could have been neat! It was fun and frantic!
Thanks for playing =) Yeap, no sounds since I was afraid I’d get bugs with godot webgl builds and would have to use howler.js . And we first wanted to make a first person game about a wood chopper in an endless forest.. So we never thought of a gun actually.
There is an issue with sound on base godot web build(at least in 4.2) but I found a solution that worked for me, our game was web godot

in audio of project settings increase output latency to 100 (60 worked for me though) Required advanced options toggled
Oh, wow. Shall check that with my other game that I stoped developed cause of this issue.
Im a mushroom maaaaan.
Burning out his roots up there alone
That was super trippy! I managed to survive and get on the boat however! very hectic and fun!
Tre trippy feeling was the idea. =D Well, then you missed the fun of becoming a mushroom. It’s not like the player becomes dead while becoming a mushroom. Just.. Different. Colorful and glowing. Thank you for playing =D
I became a mushroom. Felt like I was killing my brethren at the beginning. Good job!
Thanks! Yeap, we wanted to make it fast-paced. And I did not want to make it too long - 40 seconds is enough for a small jam game.
you have become mushroom.
As we all are since 1917
i didnt know what i was doing but whatever it was it looked and sounded great!
Thanks! =) Yeap, the game intention was to drop a bit of panic on the player.
Oh, this is fun and a good idea! The mutation events gave me the same panic as the Infection cards in the Pandemic boardgame. Well done!
Thanks! =) Yeap, with each mutation the mushrooms “levelup” starting to grow faster with a random drop of “food” for mushrooms (those dots make the mushrooms grow faster). I guess it would be fun to make a real mutation for mushrooms in a game like this.
