That was a really well executed game. I really enjoyed it it was easy to understand, fun to play and had a good difficulty curve. Well done. The only thing I found confusing was that shooting consumed my fuel. I can see that tripping up a player like me, that only read the first of two sentences on the tutorial. I would have split them up, like: "Left click to shoot" in the first room and then "Shooting uses fuel" in the next room, to really spell it out to players. Once again. Great game!

A clear 5/5 for me! The movement is difficult but rewarding. It's not incredingly punishing because of the checkpoints and because of that, I don't want to rage quit. Instead, I have a greater incentive to explore since I know it's not completely a game over. Very well done!

This was really fun! The momentum-based movement made this almost like a puzzle game, trying to figure out the best use of fuel to get to the next checkpoint. I also think making shooting cost fuel was a great idea, as there's now another action you have to balance with fuel consumption. The exploration theme is also very strong here, in trying to get upgrades to buff your hull and fuel capacity. I ended up getting all upgrades and finishing in about 8 minutes, dying a few times in the process.

I think the momentum gameplay worked, though personally I found the ship to be a little too heavy when trying to changing directions. There were times when I spent a bit of fuel in the opposite direction I was moving, and found it to barely change my velocity. Maybe that's part of the design, but a slightly lighter ship would make this feel better to control, imo.

Really excellent job on this, I thoroughly enjoyed playing your submission! And it's awesome you have the source code available too, for others to see.

Really nice idea.

The sound design is really good, and the finnicky controls definitely worked really well to make me constantly think about my next move, plus the dopamine hit from seeing the meter bar physically expand in size was something I needed today :).

That being said, I think the game veered a bit from strategic to frustrating with the introduction of rival ships, they definitely make my deaths feel a lot more like annoyances beyond my control, rather than my own poor planning - especially when they're able to freely control their ship while I can't :(. I also tried to trick an enemy ship into running into a bomb - which they did end up doing - but it didn't result in them blowing up, which was a little disappointing.

But overall, this is a great little space game, definitely one of the more fun jam games I've played so far this time around.

(Also, thank you for making this game open source! It's great to see more people sharing the inner workings of their projects, especially for jam games)

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely wanted to do a bit more with enemies and have them bump into walls/mines like you do, but alas I ran out of time. I tried to make them less action focused by making them have smaller detection radiuses. You can ALWAYS see them before they see you, and if you move slowly and carefully you can often shoot them before they even start moving. I was hoping they wouldn't be too frustrating.

The knockback you get from the walls are a little to much. I found myself stuck hitting between 2 walls couple of times. Other than that I liked the game. You can easily feel like you're exploring!

It took me a while to get warm with the controls - somehow I always revert to "point the rocket where it should go". But I had a lot of fun, great game!

Love the level of polish you achieved with this.  Super challenging and fun.

Great game! Difficult controls, but that's a part of the challenge isn't it?😅

A little hard but I won. Nice game

I LOVED it. once I commited to being minimal it was fun. It reminds me of a slow mo DataWing (if you have an android I recomend) It was neat and challenging. Kudos

Data Wing was one of the games that inspired it! I was channeling a little bit of that mixed with some super metroid and Nova Drift. I quite like momentum-based ship games so I decided to have a to at it, glad people enjoyed it :)

Awesome game. It was surprise to see so much content made during the jam. I enjoyed in finding all upgrades very much. Also, nice music, which made a good atmosphere.

Overall very difficult game to control. Also very constrained because of the fuel and hull. All this mashed up together makes it hard to get past certain points in a quick way. Loved the aesthetic and audio work though! Congratulations
