Did you follow the theme?
Yes. The concept is a grandma who is trying to keep her bathhouse customers happy through regulating the temperature of their soaks.

Did you (you or your team) do the graphisms yourself?
All of the sprites, tile sets, splash screen designs etc are made by DanEmWah. The only graphical element we didn't create ourselves was the font. Please see the credit section above.

Did you (you or your team) do the musics and sounds yourself?
All of the game's sounds were created by us, but the background and menu music are credited above.

pretty fun game I had a guy sit in a tub and not get out or show any indication they were to hot or to cold I added 5 logs to the fire and nothing changed for him so was game over for that tub not sure what caused it to happen though...

But great job to you and your team.

Woo managed to serve 11 customers.  It took a couple plays to realize that "blue neutral face" means "kinda cold" and "red neutral face" means "kinda hot", maybe I just didn't realize that there were the two different colors of neutral faces because of the pace.  This could be improved with a slightly different icon for the neutral faces so that the difference stands out more.  The pace was pretty challenging to keep up with, I'm not sure what the "best" you could do would be.  I think that it would be good to give an extra life every 10 satisfied customers so that you could potentially keep going, since random spawn rates and satisfaction wait times are going to cause you to lose eventually unless you're really lucky.  The extra lives could let the game last a bit longer.  But solid mechanics and good graphics, no bugs that I could detect, interface worked really nicely.  I liked that you could fill the water bucket and then set it down so that it was ready to use!

Really original idea! really liked  the aesthetic. You should work on the placement of the controls menu. I couldnt find it until a few rounds after hitting enter backspace and space bar. In terms of the game itself I was a bit confused about the neutral face when they were getting cold. Didnt know that meant to add more fire instead i was trying to put the water in haha.

Fantastic game! This definitely has a lot of potential for upgrades! I can see this being a fun game similar to the Diner Dash series! I enjoyed the endless aspect of it but it would be great to see levels added into this in future additions! Overall, great game and I loved playing it! (P.s. The art style was great!)

Fun, cute game!

Really fun! Sweet and simple gameplay, but the music, art, and sounds made it really entertaining.

Like others have mentioned, there is a flawed difficulty curve where two customers are in the bath and you cant do anything about the third one waiting for his turn. Still, I managed to make it to 6:30 before I ran out of lives.

While it was quite fun and smooth once I got the hang of it, the initial onboarding was a little lacking. I’ll admit to not reading the instructions in detail, and I was wondering why the Z key was not working to invite the customer (I hadn’t filled the bath yet). Some visual prompts at least in the initial stages would be quite helpful.

Great work overall, looking forward to playing again if you continue to work on it.

Nice concept, it was fun trying to keep the customers happy. I like the pixel art even though some parts (wait bars and mood-clouds) did not really fit in that well. Sometimes the controls felt strange when it did not pick a thing when it should or did pick up a wrong thing etc. It would be good to add some visual cue when an interaction is possible. Good job on making a game and good luck in the jam!

Good concept!

It gets challenging pretty fast but still manages to stay fun for a good while!

with some more variety this could make an amaging full game.

Thanks for the great feedback! We're hoping to add more variety post-jam, including an upgrade system for the bathhouse, a range of customers, and a day cycle. Hopefully we'll be able to adjust that difficulty curve too. Thanks again for playing!

Looking forward to the updates!

Great art and good gameplay. The difficulty ramps fast! I often found some customers wouldn't leave the bath without making requests which caused a pile up and no way to clear it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the positive feedback! The difficulty curve is definitely the first thing we're set to adjust after the jam, so hopefully it didn't start off too bad. At present, each customer has two requests before they leave, but making this less consistent should prevent a pile up for Granny.

Sometimes I wasn't able to throw a new log into the furnace. I even somehow managed to empty and refill a bath while holding a log. The concept is good, but it needs some bug fixes and quality of life upgrades.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for your comments! I've not heard of the furnace/log issue, so I'll definitely look into that after the jam. Being able to fill/empty a tub whilst holding an item isn't a bug, though. The only thing that it prevents is the player being able to pick up another item, but it's definitely something that could be explained in better detail with a proper tutorial. Hope you enjoyed it anyway!
