Very fun and polished game! Absolutely love the art, music and interface. I tried out the vs. mode on my own, and ended up getting quite confused since I somehow got P2 to be on the top screen, ha ha. Great work guys! :D

Thanks for playing, glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Wow! This is so well done. Everything about it looks and feels good and really effectively captures the retro vibe. Lots of great details like the character select screen, the box art, and the screen with the controls. The characters are super beautiful and well animated. The limited palette doesn’t feel like a restriction at all here. It’s also great fun! Really stellar work.

Developer

Thank you so much! Very happy that you tried and enjoyed our game.

The game is good! If played as intended, is a good reaction challenge. If not played as intended, you can easily break the game. Ronnie can use his speed and special to reach the other side of the screen and staying on there, you can no longer get harmed. Also, even the turtle is bugged as you can see. When you use the special, you can not jump, and this can make you lose. Also, for certain hits, you can jump off the screen and see this: The game is good, just be careful of bounds and rebalance the characters, check out the death animations and avoiding to get on the bottom of the floor and so on. The chicken can fly, but not always is useful, you should put iframes when you do a special in my opinion.

You are welcome :)

Super nice art here and feels very well put together. I did notice a bug where if you run off the screen to the right you keep going and can end up running along the bottom of the screen!

Still it's really nice I like the different characters and obstacles on the track kept things interesting. Really good entry!

Glad you enjoyed the game, and thanks for pointing out the bug!

Love the art.
I tried multiplayer, the bottom player (chicken) got stuck in the ground somewhere and got left behind, and when the top player (bunny) eventually died...the chicken won! XD
Love it!

Developer

Oops! That shouldn't have happened, thanks for letting us know!

Really beautiful graphics and incredibly polished game! The multiplayer reminds me of the split-screen versus multiplayer in Sonic 2! Really excellent work :)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed playing our game !

Great work, there must have been a lot of work put into this. Love the art and the sound, I wish I could test the multiplayer!

Developer

Thanks! Personally, I like playing the Versus mode just by myself too. The game mode is slower at first so you can actually coordinate well enough with both characters.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. That's actually a really good idea!

Besides the pixels that rotate, this is the most solid one I've played so far. Awesome work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Good point about the rotating pixels, I have a pixel perfect camera to fix it but it was giving some issue with the resolution. Perhaps I can fix it after the jam. Appreciate your feedback!

My brain split and I posted the pixel stuff on the other thread.... Here it is again incase you don't go back to that thread:

If you want some help with pixel perfect in Unity, I developed an asset because of this jam! It works -WAY- better than the "PixelPerfect" script that is in Unity. That's what I used for BMATEN and was able to rotate sprites, but not lose that crispy pixelness (you can see this in the boss fight when his hands rotate) . I released the asset for free, as well as the steps to make your own if you need other dimensions :)

Awesome! Will take a look for sure!

Let me know if it works for you! I've come across one bug so far that if my artwork isn't divisible by 2 it doesn't like it and moved some pixels around. it doesn't need to be a power of two just divisible by 2. There might be a work around, I suspect it has to do with the pivot point being inside a pixel space.
