The little cow skulls are ADORABLE! I LOVE THEM! And the guy who follows you around is a homie.

Gameplay-wise, I would have preferred more of a challenge? Not a lot of obstacles aside from distance when it comes to connecting the towns.

Also not a big fan of the beeping when you connect the polls... my poor ears. Would have been better to hear the towns people cheering and then getting on phones to talk with family or something?

Very chill game. I really liked that it just felt open-world and enjoyed just kind of taking in the scenery. and the guitar man was great company. Nice work!

Very cool! Is the  world procedurally generated? Super impressive. I love the skybox and birds flying give some nice ambiance. Well done!

The music was calming and fits with the chilling aspect of the game. Love the fact that there's a guy who follows you around and play it for you, too. The game doesn't feel tedious to traverse, and gives the player all the info they need, which is a really good thing for a jam game where people just like quick simple stuff. The fact that you made a working game with procedural generation in such a short amount of time is a really pleasant surprise in a jam like this.

1. I feel like the world is too barren. I know that it's supposed to be a desert, but I still think there could be more stuff in it. Maybe the cacti could be more spread out, more structures here and there, things appearing along the river, etc.

2. Right now, there isn't much of "game".  In a way that you can't really fail or learn to do better. It all comes down just to a shortest path algorithm to achieve the shortest time.  I know that might be the point of the game, to chill, but I feel like there could be much more to explore. For example, maybe it could become an economics game, a game about merchants, maintaining the happiness of the citizens in a more complex way, etc. I know that this might seem like I want you to change the point of the game completely, but I do feel like this is kind of a tech demo of a much better experience.

3. With a more consistent art style, I would've liked the game much more. Right now, it look kind of weird that you combined the blocky and smooth terrains to make the world. I would've liked a blocky voxel game more for example.

Sorry if this comment come across as negative overall, but believe me when I say I really enjoyed it.  Many of my criticisms may have sounded nitpicky, seemed unreasonable for a jam, and are just my opinions. However, I do want to see the game improve, if you ever wish it. It seems that you've poured a lot of hard work into the game, and I could really feel it.

Good luck with the jam!

Edit: Forgot to mention that the sensitivity was extra high for me.

Found a bug. I don't know if anybody else had this issue but, for me, the camera was constantly spinning to the right making if very difficult to control. Really neat idea though. It makes me wish i knew Morse-Code, haha. Oh, and just in case it's relevant to bug fixing, I'm using Firefox. Good luck!

Developer

Yes, unfortunately, Firefox seems to have an issue with WebGL. I only tried in Chrome and was alerted to the bug too late to try and fix it in time, unfortunately.

Thank you for playing and for your feedback.

Congrats on submitting,i liked the idea but i didn't know what to do

Thank you.

You can build telegraph poles with a right click on the ground in front of you. You use them to connect all the cities on the map. You have a list of cities that are on the map and a compass to guide you.

I like the idea and the art looks okay, some colors did feel rather bright against the subdued background. initially it was a bit unclear about what I was meant to be doing exactly. The sound design was satisfying and the bard accompanying you  was a nice touch. good job!

Very well done. I enjoyed my personal musician. Would be cool if you could interact with him and change the song! Liked the concept overall well done.

Developer

Yes, interacting with the bard was on my list, but it was cut due to time.

Thank you for playing and thank you for your feedback.

The most unexpected music.... in fact, your personal musician! LOL Very nice

Developer

Just a fun idea that came up while making the game and I liked it so much I used it.

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it.

Nice concept, you could also add some obstacles as well or some kind of limited resources or something. Which now that I am thinking about it, they might as well be there already on the different difficulty settings. Good Job!

Interesting idea that goes really well with the theme :)

A relaxing atmosphere and innovative gameplay loop that is fun to play and fits perfectly with the theme.

I enjoyed the musician following me around playing the song, added a lot of charm to the game! Connecting towns fits the theme really well and makes the player think of how to connect towns over bodies of water and such. Instead of a town list, a small map could be nice to better plan around said obstacles. Overall very relaxing, good job!

I really dig this idea. I mean I guess at the end of the day, you're just building connections between "things" but there's something interesting about connecting telegraph towers. The bard that follows you around is a really charming idea, I really really like that. The game didn't really have any challenge though, but I mean, it was still kinda nice to build up the towers and make the connections. I found the setting and the idea really cool and the 3d world sells that idea well, I felt like I was in West World. More games should have bards that follow you around... Nice work :)

I yet have to submit a 3D game for a game jam - which you managed to do! You crafted a relaxing and unique world that felt awesome to navigate. It was a literal take on the game jam theme, but there is nothing wrong with that. It's more about the journey in Dash Dash Dot Dash (Q?) in my opinion.

The guitar guy was absolutely instrumental to this game's atmosphere.
I had a nice time :)

The journey was soothing and relaxing. In the end, the awkward music playing guy and I became best of friends.

Excellent atmosphere.
