Did you work in a team?
I've done it without a team

Was the resolution a challenge?
The most difficult thing was to adjust the position of the objects so that they respected the pixel perfect, I got over it thanks to a video on youtube, I leave the link here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBulUgXe7rA

What did you learn?
Whenever I make a new game I learn a lot of new things, With this project I learnt a lot of new things ^^

Really cool game! Reminded me of Downwell. Impressive for only 7 days too! Godo job :)

Really cool idea for a game! I had a similar idea a few years ago, so it's neat to see that it is indeed worth playing.

Music and graphics, especially the colors, are very nostalgic and tasteful. Feels like a professional game. Both of your entries are really quite special, and either of them could be developed into bigger and better things for sure.

Developer

Many thanks iandaprix! I'm really glad that you enjoyed my entries ^^

First of all, great color palette and music!

It confused me at the beginning, that I have to use the mouse. The problem was, that you ask the player to start the game with enter. So you have to put your hand from the mouse to press it. In my opinion, it is always a good idea to begin the tutorial in the main menu. If you used a mouse button for starting the game, it would be clear for me.

But I think you could be proud of it, nice game!

Developer

You're completely right, that's a superb advise in game design, i'll apply it when the jam ends. Many thanks for taking your time to give that feedback, hope that the rest of the gameplay had suited you

interesting concept, I ran out of ammo... I think. Not sure how to replenish.

Cute art!

Developer

Sry. Had not enough time to program a tutorial. You can recharge knives by dodging enemies successfully, it's written in the description..sorry

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game, you did everything right I feel like, from sound to game feel to use of colors, to story! I guess a tutorial is the only thing I might've wanted but you had the controls in the description so nbd, 5s all around!

Developer

Thanks for reading the controls. Had not enough time in the end to program a tutorial or some ^^"

OMG how did I miss this before?!?! This is cool. :) Crazy fun, fast, and HARD (for me, at least). Adding to my collection to play again later.

Developer

Many thanks Lynx ^^ Glad you like it! your game is super addictive and nostalgic by the way!

Submitted(+1)

Great game - well done! Particularly impressed with the opening scenes - I thought they really set the scene and were a lovely touch! I ran out of ammo and couldn't work out how to get more. Really enjoyed it!

Developer (1 edit)

Give another try to the game. Use space to dodge enemy attacks, you'll gain a knife if you indeed dodge.

Some enemies will recharge your knifes if you kill em (Green gem).

And if you can't play because you don't have time, press "F7" for a GodMode.

Awesome game and surprisingly polished :) Really fun gameplay, although it’s hard to know what’s going on at first, I needed to play it a few times!

Developer (1 edit)

Many thanks kiwi! I have to figure out a way to inform the player of what's going on without wasting his patience, or tilting him... It's harder to do than saying, but posible, of course. Thanks for the feedback

Particularly hard with the 64x64 limitation :) Given the limits (time, pixels, etc) I think you did a superb job!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

It is a really hard game in a oldschool NES-era kind of way, but I guess that’s intended too. I almost gave up at first before getting to the first checkpoint, but then I got a better handle on the controls.

Still, 297m was the furthest I could go for now.

I can distinctly hear the Megaman-influences in all of the tracks heard in the game. (I guess even the player-character resembles him a bit)

I also like the narrative intro in the beginning.

Probably need to come back later to see if I can reach the ground!

Developer (1 edit)

The game is hard like that because it was my vision. I thought that making it easy would make it boring too.

I know that the "difficult" of a game is very subjective, so i'll tell you a secret. If you press "F7" you'll enter in godmode so you'll can see all the game has to offer, including the ground cinematic and all the power ups. This info is not in the game's description and this is intended, good luck!

This was definitely a really interesting game, and very well crafted! I think that it is a bit punishing considering the small screen size, and might feel a bit less cheap if the player and enemies were a bit smaller so that the player has a bit more than a split second to notice and react, but its hard to find a good balance given the harsh restrictions of this jam. Either way the game is definitely fun and very visually interesting!^-^

Developer

Want to keep the fast reaction time. But maybe the enemies could be more noticeable :0 nice feedback!

Fun game. I found the font a little hard to read in some of the background story at the start. But I enjoyed playing the game.

Developer

Yup! Making a good font in this res is kinda hard. But many entries did it, so i can do it too! Thanks for this feedback ^^

Submitted(+1)

Like "Stone", another amazing game!
Keep the good job, dude!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I have to try your game, it looks incredible ^^!

Submitted (1 edit)

It'd be a pleasure!  ^^

Submitted(+1)

This is great

Developer

Thank You!

Submitted(+1)

This is beautiful & definitely has that "one more try" vibe!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Playing your game i saw that you have an eye for the art in videogames so i'm glad to hear that from you :D

Submitted(+1)

Aw, that's really sweet! Imo you had some of the most clean & readable sprites I've seen so far this jam, and that is nothing to sneeze at! Again, well done!

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed this game visually. The color palette and art style work well, and your minimal UI is great.

Submitted(+1)

Awesome game ! I love how fast the action is.
The gameplay is really the strongest point.
Sadly I didn't reach the ground  ;-;    (my highest score is 862)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

No problem! I hope you liked the road ^^, if you want to reach the ground try F7 at the start of the game, you'll enter in GodMode

Submitted(+1)

This is great! It's hard but super fun and such an awesome concept. Looks and controls incredibly well. It's one I'll be coming back to for sure.

Submitted(+1)

I thought this one was pretty cool, it's interesting to see an inverted shmup :D

Submitted(+1)

Very fun game, I appreciate that you got the action right away! The shop was a smart addition. Graphics are very nice too.

Developer

Many thanks Denis! ^^

Submitted(+1)

Well polished, and pretty replayable due to the shop mechanic. (And getting some great Downwell vibes from this.) Great job!

Developer

Many thanks OkayScott! Yes, i took some inspiration from downwell, also check Savant Ascent, it was my other font of inspiration, i guess that you'll like it ^^
