Did you work in a team?
One member did all programming, art, music, etc. during the time of the jam. This was a very fun experience and I think the game looks very pretty!
Was the resolution a challenge?
Fitting UI and text in a way that is totally space economic was a challenge. I ended up making my own font though it has been described as childlike. I think the low resolution forced me to think economically and be very specific about what I wanted on screen; I think it was a blessing more than a curse.
What did you learn?
The thing I focused on the most for this jam was polish. In a way I learned to take the player by the hand and try to make each element in the game as purposeful as possible while keeping things looking clean and aesthetically pleasing (to the best of my ability). I should keep scope smaller

Bravo on your submission, it is great fun and ticks all the boxes!
really cute game! i enjoyed the art style and the comfy music.
Really great atmosphere. I enjoyed just walking around the island, soaking it in.
As for the font, it's pretty good! My game had a lot of dialogue and the best I could get was an all-caps font that looks okay. Text was definitely a big hurdle for a lot of people in this jam!
Hey thanks, worked for a while on that font haha!
Fun game, quirky progression system, chill music. The combat isn't the most satisfying or balanced, but overall you did a good job. Maybe add a black background to the text? (or use Godot' automatic outlines, as seen in GARRY :D )
You're definitely right, not quite satisfied with the white letters and I guess I didn't want to take up valuable screen space with the outlines but maybe I should've!
I love the juxtapostition of the beautiful sunset with the death character. nice and chilled vibes. Great job! Please check ours out too: https://itch.io/jam/lowrezjam-2020/rate/732044
Means a lot! Checking out your entry now!
I dig your sense of humor. :) The look of the game and the music worked very well together, too. Nice work!
Haha thank you, I'm glad you liked the music
I was able to relax and enjoy the game.
The music was relaxed and nice.
:)
I'm glad you were able to relax with this :)
This game is awesome, you could make a whole game from this, i see the potential here. graphics are fine but the mirror effect in the water gives the big point. also like the simple music and detailed sound effects, and the gameplay, the satan's shop is super creative and i never could figure that satan is selling monster spawners. Great game, i have to put 5/5 in this one
Thanks so much on the detailed response! I think working on my drawing and animating skills will be one of my big goals moving forward. Thanks for the positive review!
Your game has an interesting concept and gameplay loop and was the one in which I felt the most power of choice. Combat was a little hard and I also felt a little lost before learning that I should spend money to proceed. Maybe the player could spawn with a seed and 0 money instead of some money and no seeds. Good work!
I don't know how I didn't think of 0 money 1 seed, that's brilliant haha and solves the problem of leading the player, thanks for the tip. I also think the combat was a little hard, which is why I added the golden scythe upgrade but I think adding more stuff could alleviate it the problem more
I'm glad I could be of use! You could also adjust the frequency of enemy attacks and add a tell for the player to be able to recognize they'll be attacked and run away in time. But yeah, congrats again!
Great soundtrack and very interesting story/gameplay! Controls could be worked on a bit though, death's movement feels a bit hard to control
Yes, there was some glitching with his floor detection that I couldn't really solve sadly. Thanks for playing!
This was a very good time! I was a little directionless at first but with a bit of experimentation I was able to figure it out and eventually beat the game :)
Very polished entry, the graphics are very cute and the audio is fantastic. Simple and addictive little gameplay loop, and the ending was a wonderful touch! Good job!
Hey thank you, means a lot! I wish I had time to make a cute little story or something to give the player some direction as you say :)
I loved Tiny Rally btw, it's sooo clean and polished!
No problem, and thank you! :D
this was a blast
:) thanks
Excellent tone and execution. It's simple and fun, loved it!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Great ambiance with the water reflection and the sunset in the background. It's like death meets synthwave!
Haha yes, the classic synthwave sun is one of my favorite touches
This game is super cute, I love the idea of the reaper planting flowers... to attract souls to harvest. The overall sunset beach aesthetic is fantastic! Overall a fun little game to chill with. (My favorite detail is the skull sail once you purchase the boat, it's so good.)
Thank you! Thought it was a cute twisted idea
Really cute art and great concept. Love the water reflections. Well done!
Thank you very much!
Loved the artwork in this! Really chill little game!
thank you means a lot!!
5/5 baby! I love everything about this. So chill and cute!
Thank you, BUG was a great time too!
Really loved the graphics and the colors. The water reflections work really well with the artstyle. The gameplay is also really fun. A great game overall.
Thank you so much, means a lot!
