I just button spammed tbh i think that some more nuance could be really cool congrats on your game
Wow! Really well made. Even though the mechanics were new and unique for me, the tutorial got me up to speed. Building the combo made me feel like some hollywood kung fu master. Art is spot on! Stylish, readable, funny. Everything well done!
I really enjoyed being able to parry attacks
As everyone mentioning here, I am as well a victim of the getting into the game. :(
Unable to get past the opening screen, no matter what I clicked (browser version). Was excited by the music and concept, was looking forward to having a go. Felt I understood it (some of the others I really couldn't make head or tail of it) yet something wasn't right as couldn't play.
are you using the keyboard?
Starting the game is surely more of a challenge than the game itself
The controls are a bit hard to catch on to at first but once you do its really fun, though i found an exploit where you can spam Z and X with the arrow key of the direction you want to go in and boom, infinite combos
also the block attack kind of reminded me of Sekiro, maybe because i am playing Sekiro rn XD
Really good art and experience overall, congrats for the game!
First I struggled to kill even one enemy, so I tried tutorial, and still struggled.
Then I tried using technique from Jana below, it got pretty fun :D but lost feel in my fingers quickly :D
Then I combined both ! and damn, this game is freaking awesome! It screams for controller support! Controls could be bit more polished, but overall you got me from feeling disappointed to be blown away in 15 minutes :D
edit: music is simple but cool too! good job guys!

Game Controls and Player character gameplay design - Unintuitive
It was the best way I could find to play the game. And from the tutorial it was not the way it was designed to be played I think, but was the easiest, and best strategy I found. An improvement to the controls and player mechanics would fix this.
Its fun to just spam it and break the game for a bit, but I know its unintentional, and spamming gets repetitive after a while.
Hahaha, i also discovered this immediately xD
This was the first 5 across the board i've played this entire jam!
Loved everything about this, and i'll probably be back for more soon
Breathe in, breathe out. I am the warrior. Nothing can touch me. I am a giant tiger, too.
Good presentation, and definitely breathing is important for a martial artist. But the control system feels quite hard to master. You need to have enough breath to attack, which also moves in the direction where you are aiming. The camera doesn't follow you straight away and is easy to get confused with everything that is going on at the same time. The alert of an enemy attacking makes you focus on that enemy and you if you are still moving / attacking it is very easy to be disoriented. Quite nice music, sfx and theme and the art is nice and unique.
Probaply really fun but hard to play with a keyboard where the x and z button ar really far away if there was controler support i would love this
