Yeah I already thinking about how to make everything surrrounding the camera and death a bit more sufficent and I'll take your ideas into consideration since I haven't thought about any you mentioned.

Thanke you for playing my game and even more for the feedback!! :)

I love the city graphics and visual system, music suits pretty good also ambience sounds.

I like the randomization it allows to feel freshness and variety.

Adding action sounds (jumping i.e.) would improve the experience

Character is so tiny i didn't notice it on the first try.

Lower buttons have any realted mechanic or meanning for the game?

Sometimes character is missing because camera does not follow it

Nice submit! Keep on the good work!

Developer

Yeah sound effects and a few particles to the moves of the player are surely something needed to improve the game.

The lower buttons should have been an indication on when the player can hook to a point and the other one on how long the slide cooldown is, but this one needs a general rework.

Thank you for playing my game and thanks for the feedback!! :)

The art was really pretty for this one. I enjoyed the concept, parkour runners are always great! With that said, I had a couple of issues.

First, as others mentioned, the main character is really small. I feel like you could double or even quadruple the size of the character sprite without the gameplay changing.

Also, I found the easy mode extremely difficult. I might adjust more than just the scroll speed between difficulty levels, maybe change gravity as well to make the jumps easier to make? My best run was around 10 seconds, if I missed a jump and didn't get the grapple button, I was never able to wall-jump my way back to safety.

Nice progress so far, this is the kind of thing that I could play for quite a while

Thanks for the feedback!! :)

I really like the cyberpunk vibe of this, the artwork and music are really nice. The concept is also solid but I feel like a lot of things need polishing before it can be turned into something fun, as it is I found it a little frustrating to play:

  • As jtara1 said below, there is a bug where the additional buildings don't spawn (or maybe they just spawn too far away?) - this happened quite regularly for me. Usually restarting the game fixed it.
  • Even when the buildings do spawn, some of the jumps seem a little unfair. e.g. when you cannot see the building below and have to jump blind.
  • The artwork is awesome but there definitely needs to be a bit more contrast between foreground and background elements.
  • The hooking points were difficult to see, maybe you can add a glow or something to highlight them? I feel like the hook/rope itself also needed to be more visible. The mechanic itself was really fun though when you manage to pull off a successful hook.
  • Sometimes the movement itself seemed a little glitchy/jittery

Despite all that, the cyberpunk vibe is definitely my thing and I actually think you can turn in into a very cool little running game, so I hope you will continue to work on it :)

Yeah the camera needs something to make all the buldings always on the screen and some things, especially the player itself, needs something to contrast them from the background. When you'were mentioning that the buildings didn't spawn;or too far, were you playing in the Alpha 1.0.0 or the Alpha 1.0.1 Version, because I thought ihad fixed it in that version already (the new one was released around on the 31 of July at around 1am MEZ). Another thing I'd like to ask is if there were any exact functions (slide, jump, hooking, walljumping, slide) felling jittery/glitchy, or was it the movement system itself.

Thanks for the amount feedback, I could you it :)

If Alpha 1.0.1 was only uploaded on the 31st then I probably played Alpha 1.0.0 :) I'll have another little play of it later to see if it's fixed.

For the jitter, I think it was the movement itself, it seemed like in certain points all objects on screen would jitter. But it only happened very occasionally.

It was tricky to find my tiny character as the timer counted down. During my first run it was unclear as what was background vs foreground. I encountered a bug that caused all but the first building in the foreground to be rendered making the game unplayable. I played the web build.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!!

I only have one question, did the bug with the buildings not spawning (except the first one) happen once or did it happen regularly?

Submitted(+1)

It occurred regularly. I had no choice as the player but to take a leap of faith only to fall to my death twice.

Developer

Huh thats really something I need to take a look at then, thanks for feedback and the quick response. :)

I like the look and music of this game and has a nice cyberpunk feel. I couldn’t quite figure out whether those icons at the bottom in the circles were characters, or prompts to do different actions like sliding and wall-running. I thought maybe they were character sprites because nothing else on the screen looked like the player. Without a floor though it wasn’t clear to me where or if I was moving. Is the idea that we are wallrunning high in the air along these buildings?

Developer

The Icons at the bottom should only be a help to the player

-> the left one with a character sliding should show the player when they can slide again since there is a slowdown of around a second            after each slide

-> the right icon should represent when the player is inside an area where they can hook to a hooking point, since sometimes they are right at the edge of the screen or even outside of it. Yes it isn`t  really a great solution, but I thought it works for now

So in short their not prompts but more help indicators for the player

Also you`re right my idea was to be on top and between building high in the air without any floor, but you`re right sometimes when the height difference between buildings is great enough the camera doesn`t do a particularly great job at where the next buildings are

Thank you very much for playing and even more for the feedback :)
