Very cool game, look, and use of secondary theme. Not that MECH-y. But: *insert_meme "I'll allow it"
Really good small topdown adventure.
The artwork is very nice, especially the artwork in the intro cutscene, and i like the minimalist color scheme, little details like the snow effects are also quite a nice touch.
The tune is also pretty good and give this game kind of a Gameboy vibe to me.
Gameplay wise the controls are fine, i’d just say the difficulty is quite high since the battery drains very fast, and when paired with the sometimes a bit confusing level design it can be tough finding the ship.
Regardless this still fun to play, and i managed to reach the ship at the end thanks to the dash !
Good job :)
Pretty fun game, well made! The art in the cutscene at the start was also very good, but the slides go by too quickly so I had trouble reading the whole thing before it moved on, and I definitely didn't have time to look at the art since I was busy reading (I had to restart a few times to get a good look at it). It would be nice if I could watch it at my own pace with a button for moving to the next image. The gameplay was nice as well but I ran out of battery between the recharging spots when being chased because I got so little energy from each one so I didn't get to the ending. It was cool to figure out you could dash through trees but when I went downwards there were no trees anymore and no collision at the end of the map so I could just wander off... Perhaps some obstacle you can't dash though could be used to line the outside of the map.
Yeah, i wanted to connect the story with space bar, but just dint have the time to understand how to do it xD Oh shoot you explored even outside the bounderies xD i dint think anyone would find their way out there. Yeah i should have just put a boundery on the surrounding areas just outside of the tree line, nice catch!
I love the style and colors you used. And the story panels at the beginning got me invested immediately (I do wish I could choose when to see the next story panel... I'm a very slow reader)
Had a lot of fun optimizing my path each life. The map felt very well bread-crumbed (strong batteries, new enemies, pockets of open forest) to get me to eventually find my way to the ship!
Took too long to realize I could dash through trees but once I figured that out it was fun. If you don't want to tell the player thats an option maybe trap the player early on so they try every option sooner
I wasn't able to figure out how to get very far, but I liked the graphic and music style. Could have used a little tutorial to tell me what I should be doing besides walking and finding more energy.
Figuring out that the trees could be dashed through made the whole game much more interesting after my first several failed attempts. It almost felt like I was hacking the game, but in a very fun type of way. Overall, a simple and well-handled concept!
The low battery theme runs all throughout the game and that makes the game more exciting, the fact that you can dash through forest obstacles really makes it exhilarating, right about the final part when the enemies begin following you like the sun from Super Mario Bro's 3, the game picks up and leads you to a very climatic ending!
The music was well integrated into the game, the mechanics were solid, overall a great experience!
Very simple, but at the same time executed very well, and theme integrated nicely.
My only critique would be that the SFX of the footsteps is a bit louder in relation to the background music, which I think deserves more presence.
Other than that this is a great submission. Excellent job!
Beautiful little Game
On The Start you can Dash to the left and go down to get the big battery directly.
Nice Visuals, Movement feels good.
Low battery Theme well integrated
Lovely, Good Work, Keep it up!
