Fantastic storytelling well done, and while I felt like it ended a little unexpectedly I was actually glad of the length as it's a jam entry. Second time I played I choose to sleep and that was a really cool twist on the story. The images and sounds and timing were all great, for a visual novel this was really enjoyable for me. I really love the artwork as well! Another excellent solo entry.

Very cool art, sound and general style! I hope you make more of it!
I'm sorry but you updated you game after voting started so I can't play/vote for it. It's not fair on everyone else that followed the rules.
I didn't do any big updates I just changed a small bug that didn't allow the title screen to appear properly and a small crash on one part, but I didn't add any content. or make it any better, so is basically the same game, i believe it was mentioned if someone needed to do a little bug fixing it was okey as long as you didn't change the core game or add any other stuff, I refrained myself from expanding the game any further since the jam voting was ongoing.
I had posted about it in my journal After release announcement - WizMech by Studio Lemi (itch.io) it was done on 22nd.
Ok considering it was 5 days ago, an not 2 days like some of the other people in this jam I'll give it shot during the day today and vote. Thanks for replying to me and clarifying, I know there were some extensions, and yes bug fixing for unplayable games was allowed although some people seem to have taken this to the extreme and updated their projects within the last 1-2 days not leaving the original files there to play/vote on.
Too much reading not enough playing, not my kind of game. Very nice art though.
ayyyy vn gang lol
Love the aesthetic; the music and look of the game really contribute to this dreamy vibe, as Drunk Sylvari said. My issues mostly come down to proof-reading issues, typos and the like; stuff that's totally excusable in a game jam.
In hitting a feeling, you knocked it out of the park! Would love to see you expand on this, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future! This was super cool!
vn gang all the way! Thank you so much for trying out my game! I am so happy the dream like music worked for the experience, I was going for that sort of weird neon genesis evangelion vibe.
And yes the time constraints really had it's toll on the typos I am working on it and reviewing the material, but i've been doing it solo so it was a lot of work XD one side had to suffer.
I am currently restructuring the story so it might change a lot compared to what it is right now, but hopefully i can provide a more complete story!
Oh snap! Yusss! I am so happy you got to find me out again hahaha! I have twitter or x or whatever is called now and also building up a new discord imma be announcing it soon! Thank you so much for enjoying my games! Also I am really enjoying your vn, I like that is more of an investigation were you go through various documents and you slowly piece together the narrative, I enjoy this, I will review yours!
The theme and setting and presentation were all incredibly compelling. The art/panels especially!
There's a lot of great little philosophical quandaries on all of the paths. I'm looking forward the many varied paths that this game could set.
Awesome story, and the dark introspective tone goes like bread and butter with your signature ghibli/moebius inspired style ^^
Speaking of said style, the mech designs are really amazing, you really nail the way to make very outlandish alien designs that are striking and memorable, these “Gods” are quite frightening.
My only gripe is that, at the moment the path that doesn’t lead to a game over ends on a cliffhanger XD (but jams be jams with time and all so i totally get why) and honestly the different game over paths were quite interesting as well.
Some technical praise feels deserved as well, cause in the jam’s context having auto saves was really handy to explore the various branches in the story and see all the game has to offer, and post jam it’ll surely be useful to not restart from the begining in case of a wrong choice.
can’t say more than Well done :)
You are so on point is scary hahhaa! I am happy I was able to make something impressionable! Making creepy monsters seems interesting is my passion!
Sadly as you suspect and point out, the time constraints ate my story in the process hahaha I think i need a lot of editorial work still ahead of me and hopefully on the other side a better story is born.
Thanks for taking the time and for giving it a try!
Haha well everybody’s got their thing they’ll tend towards theme wise, and you’ve got a pretty memorable artstyle, so it’s bound to be striking, plus this is coming from someone who’s not the biggest fan of horror so this should say a lot :p
And no worries it’s cool ^^ i feel in general jams might have too short deadlines for very narrative focused games, but it’s a great way to showcase cause i’m sure it’ll shine post jam.
Nice game, I am not crazy about text adventures but your was nice to follow. I liked also the skip button that speed up the process. I am sorry that you didn't finish the story yet.
Good Job
I really liked the animations you added, and i liked the story, and some of the imagery. The sleeping choice was a crazy thing to watch, loved it! Good Job always love your story work!
Great aesthetic and foreboding atmosphere! It reminded me a lot of "Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk" due to it being a VN with a limited pixel art color palette.
There were typos and I did receive an error in one of the branches, though that might have been an intentional inclusion given the context (it occurs in the hangar when talking about "success"). The music was great as well!
Overall, really solid work!
Man, that is one of the biggest compliments since my inspiration has been nikkita is work, "Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk" is one of my biggest inspirations for going game dev!
Thank you also for noticing the typos and the error, Due to the time constraints I was not able to finish everything like I wanted to, but I am definitly fixing those bugs and the typos! thank you for pointing them out, it helps a lot!
I am so happy you liked the game! Can't wait to play yours to!
The story is very well written and has a lot of potential if developed further. Also the artwork it's quite impressive, and the music fits well with the art style.
Personally I would have preferred a bit more choices for the player during the dialogues, but at the same time I can see that there is real depth in those dialogues.
Other than that this is an excellent submission!
Great job!
