I don't think anyone will use the limitation more accurately and inventively than you. This was awesome. Good job. Only negative was some weird graphics on the health, like dithering? Idk when you move the health and score UI slithers? And a little less bloom for me and it's perfect.

But it's 5's all around good shit seriously. This is top tier.

EXCELLENT!! I loved it, thank you!!

One of the best entries I've played. I really like both the art and gameplay. The lighting, effects, gameplay loop is really neat!

I love the concept. And the graphics are very nice. Only the camera could've been a little bit smoother.

This is the best game I've played so far. I especially liked how the UI and the way the hearts move between the health bar and the playing field make it immediately clear how the game works.

I do think some light sprite animation on the characters could make game look even better.

Developer

I wanted to do that but I unfortunately ran out of time

Great work, i liked everything about this game, the only negative i have would be that the text was a bit hard to read.

Im doing video feedback!

I uh did encounter a bug tbh, but still really enjoyed it!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah lol that’s a bug, I didn’t manage to catch it in playtesting but I might try to fix it

You can “wait” a turn by hitting the walls with your heart, it bounces off and returns to you

And yeah your original hunch about the spike heart was right, it does damage to enemies who step on it. It’s useful in that it does the most damage in the game but you need to sacrifice the heart

Really beautiful but I'm a little too dumb to understand what was going on. Reviewed live at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Super fun to play, the visuals are stunning, the game is extremely polished. Very nice use of limitation as well. Awesome entry.

Probably the best entry I played, yet!
I really digged the graphics, art style and especially your implementation of "Health is a tool". Really great concept. I'll follow you!

Amazing game!

The limitation of using health as a tool is perfectly used. The graphics are very nice and soundtrack is pleasant to hear. The randomly generated levels allow for endless replayability. Difficulty increases properly and the game becomes more challenging the farther you go. Also very nice presentation and cover image!

Here is one of my playthroughs.

All hail the winner. Thanks for the masterclass about art and juice.

Developer

hah! Those are the 2 things I’m strongest in after all! Anyways, sorry for the self promotion but my game Chessu Chain apparently has an insane amount of juice, check that out if you want

The game is awesome :) Really good job with the graphic design and the usage of the limitation. This works great with a turnbased game.
Unfortunately it was a little bit to easy. Maybe more random enemy movements?

Developer(+1)

which floor did you die on? it starts becoming exceptionally difficult around floor 10

Submitted

Ok. Then I stopped a little bit too early :D I was on floor 8. Will definitely play it again and confirm your claim :p

Developer

yeah. right when the red skele bois start appearing  you start losing your hearts like crazy

Submitted

Im so speechless.. Phenomenal game

Submitted

Superb and super fun!
