Enjoyment: Really nice, I enjoyed exploring planets and having to choose what planets to go to so I don't run out of sun dust. One thing that annoyed me was the intro playing after my first time seeing it and it didn't seem like it was skippable. Another thing that was weird was the landing but I assume thats a skill issue though it could be better.
Concept: Good!
Presentation: All the art is amazing and polished but I especially like the art derpyzza did.
Use of the Limitation: It's amazing. You could have made it much worse by making you not able to reach the sun but that would've made the gameplay worse so I'm glad you chose this way.
Hey, thanks for reviewing!
It's not explicitly stated, but holding down the mouse button speeds through the text.
Great game! From the beginning, I was already impressed by the short storyline/background in the front, and then the mechanics of the game were pretty easy to get ahold of and really fun with even a good amount of decision making about which planet to go to next This is also a really creative take to the whole theme and limitation which I thoroughly enjoy. Personally, at first it took me a little to realize that you had to manually control the spaceship, but really nothing major and great game anyways. Good luck with your submission! -Sincerely, Henry_Hamster
Really interesting concept!
Visuals are amazing, and exploring the planets is fun. I kinda wish I could do more on the planets, like find different collectables or something, because I was kinda in a rush to refill my fuel and go to the sun (I lost a couple times because I was more into exploring than completing the objective haha, but that's on me).
The controls felt good to me, the landing felt a little bit weird but nothing too problematic. I like the music, and the mood of the game is great. It's a real nice touch that when you're near the sun the background changes.
Overall pretty good experience, and the game is pretty polished, and left me craving for a full game of 2D space exploration. Something like a No man's sky 2D mixed with a platformer of sorts. Great job here.
This game is beautiful! A really neat concept too. Everything was really impressive.
My only super minor critique is that I kept trying to press the W key to go up when I was on the left or right side of a planet. So perhaps making W and S also move the character in addition to A and D would have smoothed this out a bit. But, that was not a big deal at all!
Great entry, I enjoyed this one a lot!
Lots of fun! I forgot I could shoot and just accepted that the game was harder than dark souls for a moment. It was also nice getting to see this game being built live on discord. Good job!
Awesome concept. The game is very polished and the amount of content is incredible for a game jam. As other said, the spaceship feels a little bit strange when landing on a planet, but it doesnt ruin the game experience. Good game, one of the best entries i've played right now. Great work!
Loved it! loved flying around and exploring the planets, but sometimes the space ship rotating towards the planet to land messed up my landing so that I flew off again.
I really liked this one! it was pretty fun to explore the different planets and the gameplay was decently challenging! there were a couple bugs, like the spaceship bonking itself on a planets gravity field and being ricocheted away, but nothing too major. it would be nice to have more variation on a planet’s contents, like different enemies or different loot or something, but the current amount of content was good enough for a jam game lol a lovely entry regardless! :D
