wow, this game is actually really good! The art is lovely, the gameplay seems to be really polished, the concept is amazing and the limitation was used well!
hope to see more amazing stuff from you in the future
Nicely done, especically like the pushing and pulling mechanic, which is well coded. Idea is good as well and fits the theme and limitation (and is not just an endless runnner ;)).
Keep it up!
Very fun to play, gets increasingly difficult, and it's rather addictive. I love and hate the imps haha. The only sacrifice that annoyed me a bit was the perception of time, but the others felt 100% fair and square. My highscore was 13.
The presentation of this game is on point, and so is the music. This is a very solid entry, good job!
Was really fun even though I sucked at i
It is so well realized ! The global ambiance is very cool. And I liked the concept of this looser cultist. Congrats !
Wow! congrats! I love the pixel art and the palette, of course the concept is the best thing, your game is awesome!
This was a very good game with a real nice presentation and music ! (I can't believe you got the time to have settings, credits, menu and all the stuff)
The things I loved about this game
The things that can be improved
Really fun and really polished but after more than 1 imp gets in the room its pretty annoying because they keep pushing the candles around. fun game.
I absolutely love this.
The various sacrifices are really well designed, with some genuinely difficult decisions to make.
Gameplay is in general really well thought through, in particular the imps - the telegraphed moves and the fact that they can move candles forces planning ahead, especially as they get faster.
Music is superb, and really sets the tone for the game. It's ominous and adds to the dread, but really encourages careful and considered play rather than rushing.
I always love seeing what people can do with really low res pixel art, and thought this was wonderful. The sprites are amazing!
The title font is great (falling in love with fonts is a running theme for me this jam, apparently) - is it custom made?
My final score was 14.5
Thank you so much, the font wasn't custom made. If you want to use it your self: https://www.dafont.com/hydrating-lip.font?fpp=200
Cool game! I like how you use the theme and the limitation.
Really neat game. Like the use of the theme and the limitation overall.
Nice graphic and mechanics!!! I love that. :D
BTW it took me long to figure our how to pass level 2.
Pros:
Very cool interpetation of the theme, sacrifices were unique and fun, the art was pretty good, and the random movement of the imps but you can know where they move was a smart game design choice
Cons:
Hard to read what is going on in the game due to the low scale and also the fact that everything was red, there was no sound effects and the game got pretty repetitive after like 15 favour
Really well made for a jam game!
thx, there where a couple of SFX but I agree it could have been more!
Such a good use of theme and limitation but I can't see a way to get candles out of walls/corners so I didn't get to see much.
You can pull candles while holding shift.
This should be explained at the start of the game.
Nice! :D
I like 8bit style game. This game is easy to learn and so hard to polish.
I think this is a really beautiful game. You packed so much juice into such a simple concept. Great job
