beautiful
Very nice psychological horror game! Haha... ha... ha...
(Is zooming in on the browser cheating?)That's probably a way better category - it was so hard to pick a tag!
"Frustration" - yes... how do you know? :D The most frustrating thing is actually that the bar goes down so slowly. Great patience tester. Had fun.
Game was fun, I feel like the limitation wasn't clear in the game but it is to each their own interpretation. I loved how fast the frustration bar hit me, it popped up out of nowhere and my whole screen began shaking, I wish I could color in those small little boxes together in a whole. This game would be a lot of fun as a mobile game with some extra little challenges added. Maybe some more puzzles.
Thank you for giving it a shot! I would love to make this on mobile but I think mouses are cheaper to replace than phones if someone ends up throwing it against the wall :)
An incredible art game. The limitation usage is a bit lackluster but overall an incredible experience. 8/10 would paint again.
I had a lot of fun playing it, yet it is quite frustrating but I think you meant to make it that way! :)
Interesting idea. Instead of paint by numbers, it is paint by clicking everywhere! I loved it! Very fun :D
Hey I really loved the game!
Did play through until the mona lisa!
The music is fun, it's a cute game, and really great for a 3 day jam!!
(if I may, I would only adjust the click point position of the mouse cursor, because it clicks slightly to the top left of the cursor and not exactly where you click, which can be confusing in the beginning)
Well done!
Thanks for the feedback about the click position! I tried a lot of different variations and had my wife (a total non-gamer) try it out as well and this is what we settled on. Maybe if I had more time and I hated my players a little more I would make the click offset change by one pixel at random intervals but not alert the player :D Glad you enjoyed!
No problem!
Please don't add random click point change though if you want to keep the game fun lol.
I like your humor! And the concept of your game. On my computer it had some serious performance issues, though. But other than that, really well done!
Thank you for playing! I did have to use a sneaky workaround for the fill algorithm because I kept getting a stack overflow and the solutions I found online were way over my head as a beginner programmer. It definitely makes the game hang for a second sometimes but I decided not to optimize it because it rewards patience instead of spam clicking and skyrocketing the frustration bar. I appreciate your kind words!
Evil.
Just Evil.
Just Pure Evil.
Nothing else.
It was fun trying to select every color and seeing which of them fills a section of pixels! In the intro I was like hmmm how do I even start the game
i was so confused when i clic on play button and it didn't starts
It does work but it's not that simple - I believe in you!
I got to the caterpillar and couldn't for the life of me get the last two pixels filled in (with this game, I don't know whether that was a bug or a feature!).
The game reminds me of the ethos of Bennet Foddy's Getting Over It. As Foddy said of his game: "This isn't nice." So I can't in good conscience say that this is "fun", per se, but it certainly is genius on every other level. Sometimes the decisions you make on colour picking depends on what colours border the spot, which made for some amount of analysis, which was nice.
Very cool idea and implementation. Well done!
Thank you for playing! I can assure you the caterpillar works but his individual pixels are there to prep you for the last two levels which are very technical. Someone with 20/20 vision and a very high DPI mouse posted a picture of the victory screen below if you want to see it!
I hate it, and everything about it. I hope you’re pleased with yourself :D
(amazing use of the limitation!)
I am very pleased with myself. Thanks for playing!
Theme is great, most creative use of the limitation i've seen, art is also amazing. This game is evil though, not enjoyable, evil. I think I destroyed my mouse beating it.
Really impressive concept, but easy to get frustrated (which I think is the point?) when filling in just one pixel. But I must say, I love the finger painting animation a lot!
paint named finger
I don’t know if it’s intentional, but the click is very, VERY laggy. If it is: genius. Great presentation.
:)
