Nicely paced. An easy beginning that ramps up to fast and frantic action.

Thanks!

Nice game! Love the simple yet replayable game loop, immediately reminded me of the game I submitted as well lol

Three things, Simple, Replayable, and Enjoyable.

The game is simple yet the perfect example of a good concept for a time-limited gamejam like this. Easy to implement and completely finish on time especially for a solo developer like you.

In terms of replayability, it has a good gameplay loop that keeps players playing over and over again.

Lastly, enjoyable, it has a fun gameplay loop and good sound effects + bgm and also a score system making the game very playable and enjoyable.

The game overall really feels complete and awesome for a 3 day gamejam, most games I see have bugs and are unfinished but this is definitely finished and fun.

For future improvement, just improve your speed at developing games, sooner and soon you will definitely be faster, and I say this because there are a few things you could have added that really perfects the game such as a simple pause to see your score after a run, or maybe a highscore system which really makes the game much better.

Overall, everything is balanced and one of the best games I have seen here, congrats and good luck!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that I managed to meet my goal with this. I wanted a game that was simple enough to be finished in a game, but replayable to the point where I might find myself playing this whenever I'm bored, and of course enjoyable with the simplicity. And I made this game to try out exporting to the PSP using Godot, which is why it might be lacking in features. But I did however join this jam like one day before it ended, and I chose a random jam for this. Thank you again for playing and for your feedback!

Nice little game. the last level was the most fun wish there were, more levels

Developer

Thanks for playing! I bet if the game escalated further it would be impossible, lol xD Enemies were spawning I think every 0.4 seconds in the final level!

I absolutely love this game! Very addicting to play and replay. The sound effects are so satisfying when you level up and when the blast hits the target. I also feel like the difficulty curve ramped in a natural way. Great job!

Developer

Thanks!

I enjoyed your game! It was fun and simple. The hardest level is intense! I got around 10k before losing

Thanks for playing!

Managed to get to 18000 points before being utterly overrun. Nice very nice game! The first time I played I got instakilled by one spawning on top of me but it only happened once?

Developer(+1)

I tried to figure out how to make enemies not spawn on top of or close to the player but it didn't really work. There is a line of code in the script that is meant to do that, and I didn't remove it, but I don't think it works lol. Thanks for playing though!

I loved this game. It was really easy to to pick up and play and had a lot of replay value (gotta try and beat  21,000 points). Considering it was just basic pixel art, there was a lot of character by giving the enemies eyes and a shadow.

Developer

Thank you! My goal was to make something really simple but also replayable since that's what works best for these small jams. I focused more on polish and getting the basic idea to work so I don't over-scope. Glad you liked it!

I gave up after 21,000 points as my hand started to hurt lol. Cool game though!

Developer

Getting 21,000 points is insane! I couldn't get higher than 10k. Thank you for playing!

Simple but fun, I enjoyed the 8-bit graphic style and the sounds, the progression system with the enemies being faster over time was good but I think it would've been better if you added some progression for the player too, like power ups that make you shoot auto, multishoot etc...
I've reached something like 9000 points  BEAT ME IF YOU CAN >:D

Developer(+1)

Wow, 9000 points! Glad you're enjoying it. I might have to play my game now to maintain the highest score xD
I wanted to add player progression as well, that's why I made bullets grow every level, and I was too lazy to do anything complicated lol.

:D

Developer(+1)

There's no way I'm beating 9000 lol, I got 3450 and died.

:/

Developer

Nvm, I got 18280!

Super polished, fast paced, and fun to play! I love the way new enemies are drip-fed and the way information is delivered to the player in general, it doesn't interrupt the game's momentum while still making the new information easy to understand. The act of firing your canons and hitting enemies also feels fantastic!

But for some reason the music completely cutoff once I hit around 500 points I'm not sure why that happened. It started back up again when I lost and the game restarted

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing. I must have forgotten to set it to loop! I'll fix it and re-upload. Also, did you forget to rate? The number of ratings hasn't changed.

:D

Oh woops I forgot to rate it, thanks for reminding me

Developer(+1)

I fixed the music issue.
